Really don’t like where this is going, and I have been pretty chilled about the whole thing so far. (As in happy to follow the rules for the greater good).

Me too. Frustrated now.

Was planning to start DJing again two weeks tonight after 15/16 months off, looks like that's going to be extended now.

Maybe that's just me being selfish though.

Please don't call yourself selfish for not being able to do the thing you love.

16 months off from your passion is an extremely long time, and I'm sick of people branding the word selfish for simply wanting to live your life.

It's beyond a joke now and I feel for you.

That's it I've had enough.

My mask is off come June 21st.

And if they ever tell me I'm 'not allowed' to see my family ever again they can stick their head up their arse.

Why would they say you can't see your family ever again? You can see your family now can't you?

I mean if they ever say we're not allowed to visit other households again - for example another lockdown.

As always, there are plenty worse off so don't want to complain too much.

Hospitals could also include community hospitals which look after the frail elderly. Mental health hospitals which clearly have their own cohort of patients.

However, in Leicestershire we have the Glenfield General which is a specialist respiratory hospital and they're set up to accept a number of ?CV+ patients without them attending the LRI A&E. I Imagine there must be other such specialist hospitals around the country. Not every ?CV+ pt goes via A&E, in my experience.

Yeah you have cardiorespiratory centres like Glenfield and Royal Brompton who have no a&e but critical care capacity, but they are a dying breed and certainly a minority. My point was there are not thousands of hospitals in the UK that would care for covid patients.

Few more media outlets reporting the same (cba to post all of them) so looks like the briefings have begun and this is happening with the announcement on Monday.

Mixed feelings on this one, the cautious part of me wants the "right-first-time" (poor phrase I know) and to only unlock totally when it's irreversible as the cyclical locking/unlocking is blatantly unsustainable and in nobody's interest.  My hope is that on Monday the justification is adequately explained, as that's the only way this will pass without hacking off even those more tolerant of restrictions.  I was supportive of every previous lockdown and lifting decision, and even thought they were imposed too late, but this one currently doesn't wash with me based on my interpretation of what I've seen.  Also worth adding, as I feel it's relevant to people's view on continuation of restrictions, is that the current restrictions aren't prohibitive in the slightest for me so I'm not going to comment regarding how onerous the current ones are as I appreciate others are impacted significantly more.

Unlike me to be positive but just keep doing what you're doing people. Don't not see your family or whatever just because 'the rules' don't allow you to.

It's businesses who are going to suffer that I feel sorry for. Thankfully hospitality should do ok due to the Euros, but that's only a small positive in the grand scheme of things.

Why can’t you see your family Harry ??

what else do you want to do in late June and July that you won’t be allowed to if they move the 21st back a month ?

It won’t just be put back a month though will it ? That’s the point.

The goalposts have been moved continually throughout out this whole thing. Anyone thinking that if it gets put back a month then all will be ok is deluded. There clearly trying to drag it out until autumn / winter when the seasonal illnesses start and then they can try and justify further restrictions.

The only way this ends is when the public stop complying with the rules.

Ditch you’re mask and stop going for tests if you’re not ill.

This is what I'm fearful of, cases in 4 weeks time will be higher than they are now because of the mixing, obviously if they are looking at cases as a means to justify restrictions. What's laughable is that they haven't given us the criteria for lifting lockdown, because we'd probably meet them and they'd be more people pushing for unlocking.

Regarding your last pont, quite frankly I'm amazed that there are so many people still complying with the rules tbf.

Go and hide under your bed with a mask on

Strange response, not unexpected on here though. Hide from what precisely? I was hoping to be back at work on a phased return to work the week after next - just one of half a dozen things that have gone to shit though lax international restrictions.

Harry DC mentions "rationality"...you should be proud.

I get the feeling the masks are a big problem for some. Why?

Apparently it's been "scientifically proven that they don't work".

I provided over 70 journal articles proving they do work earlier in the thread, whoever I replied to just ignored it.
