Are there safeguards in place for administration? @Foxes_Trust

Even as a more ‘optimistic’ fan, I can’t see how this doesn’t end up in administration. We are losing daily 200k, that just isn’t sustainable being out the premier league and with promotion to the premier league a complete pipe dream for at least the next few years, this only ends one way.

The right time for King Power to move on was a long time ago, as we know. But when the funding stops from the King Power group, then what? Because it will at some point, they can’t run their own business properly, let alone fund ours.

There was some talk about Aiyawatt using his personal wealth if KP decides not to fund the club but that just ain’t sustainable or realistic in the long term.

If he genuinely loved the club, he would look for a buyer whether we go up or down, with experience in being able to effectively manage a business. This only ends one way.

It’s more likely he /kp group will look external investment, maybe a minority share.

Wouldn’t they have already done that by now if they were going to?

I don’t think they felt they needed to. Maybe after this set of account, they might have to!

The promotion of the CFO to CEO is gearing the club up for sale. Hopefully that comes through faster than the inevitable insolvency events we are heading towards.

How do you know?

( I'm not questioning you or looking for an argument, but how have you come to this conclusion. Is this a normal practice?)

I just went to the stadium because I want to bring two old friends to the Swansea match, only to be told there is no outlet for tickets at the stadium. I was given a number to call, only to be told it's only open Monday to Friday. This club can't afford to make ticket purchases so inaccessible.

Absolutely ridiculous but it has been the case for several years.

It would appear so  , yes I use the word appear , that depreciation on the asset appears on the clubs balance sheet meaning it is a club asset  but there is also mention that it is subject of an HP agreement with KP which has been extended for another 10 ? years.

Is it that the club own Seagrave but have used it as security on a loan from KP?

It's a shame we aren't playing this weekend so our dismal performance on the pitch could take our minds off our dismal performance off it.

Initially there was a £90+ million loan drawn down from KPI to finance the build. But following conversation of debt to equity it become ever more difficult to work out what is owed and not subject to a formal fixed or floating charge or what exactly the position is when it comes to what would happen if any creditor had need to enforce non payment.

Everything I see or shall I say  read , suggests that LCFC Ltd is the owner of Seagrave. The problem is that LCFC is owned by Top and or KP. So to a degree it’s irrelevant.

Let's be honest with ourselves.

Come transfer time we've screamed at the club for not forking out even more money and buying better players.

I'm not going to use the "little Leicester" excuse, but we can't kid ourselves that, without paying over the going rate, we're not going to attract players that would otherwise go to the so called big 6 or elsewhere in Europe.

What is more, we're not unique in this position, other clubs have run up big debts, with poorer facilities. There was an article not long ago that raised concerns that within 3-4 seasons, over half the EFL teams will be in a position similar to ours.

We are badly run - and that should be punishment enough in itself.

Over glamorised "elite" teams are killing football slowly.

Might be too late already, the patient is very sickly.

King Power Holdings own the King Power Stadium.

It’s on a hire purchase agreement to Leicester City football club. It’s repayable on the 30th June 2026, at a cost of £25.5m. This was extended in September 2025.

Our Parent company is King Power International. Who’s holding company is V&A Holdings Limited.

When i started to see the statement 'leicester city will follow the model of selling a player (big asset) every season', I was thinking, yep, they've lost it. Those days have gone, we have no big assets and finding those gems is now very difficult, if not impossible

Yep - more looking backwards, more delusion.

The world of transfer scouting is now so complex and competitive I think it’s probably a fair assessment to say we have peaked, and if we are not careful all the hard work done trying to create an environment where youngsters want to join from a early age and progress within the catchment area will be undone because children of a certain age won’t remember the “glory years” just like clubs before us that have done well and then fallen of a cliff.

They could get away with this nonsense when we were selling out every game, but surely not now.

Buying a home ticket is far too complicated if you’re not a ST holder or member. One ticket per supporter number too, if you’re not one of the above.

Why are the club more obsessed with controlling and knowing who is in the ground and making ticket sales as difficult as possible, rather than with selling more tickets with a simpler process?
Is there still a fan engagement officer who should be sorting this kind of thing out?

Had we spent no money at all in the summer of 2024 - we’d be in a far better place both with the squad and finances.

Instead we ploughed money into Skipp, Ayew, Okoli, Reid, Golding & Edouard. Our second highest net spend on that crock of shit.

They've never once tried to get the finances in order - last summer was the first time we stopped spending when it should have happened 3 years prior

What a heinous bunch Cooper signed. Coupled with 3 years for Vesty (not Cooper's fault!) it stuffed us for years

I’m getting annoyed by Forest fans on X drooling over Seagrave, and our fans blaming seagrave for our downfall, and thinking our luck will change if we go back to Belvoir drive

Seagrave is not why we are where we are. Rudkin and Aiyawatt is

Leicester City’s turmoil: £71.1m losses, relegation pay cuts and summer sales
Story by John Percy • 22h •
4 min read

Leicester City have announced significant losses of £71.1m but are confident of avoiding further sanctions for financial breaches.

Premier League champions 10 years ago, Leicester are facing the prospect of relegation to League One for only the second time in their history.

Leicester’s first-team players will receive automatic pay cuts in the event of a second successive relegation, with salaries further reduced. Sales will be likely regardless of which division Leicester operate in next season, with Ghana international Abdul Fatawu expected to be the most coveted player.

Financial accounts reported today are from 2024-25, when they were in the Premier League, and the losses are attributed to the costs associated with competing at that level.

Leicester were deducted six points earlier this year by the Football League for breaching financial regulations, with an appeal hearing soon.

Despite today’s figures the club is confident of avoiding further punishment and is compliant with Profitability and Sustainability Rules (P&S).

The accounts do not include the sales of Mads Hermansen (£15m to West Ham), Kasey McAteer (£12m to Ipswich) and James Justin (£8m to Leeds) as they were completed after June 30 2025. Leicester are also assured of around £18.6m from VfB Stuttgart for the permanent signing of Bilal El Khannouss, who joined on an initial loan last year.

Leicester say that improving their financial position is “a priority” and have appointed Kevin Davies, the club’s former finance director, as their new chief executive.

When the Championship club were deducted six points in February, it emerged that they avoided a harsher sanction as the independent commission accepted a “clear downtrend in losses”.

Leicester have appealed against the initial decision, with a hearing expected in the next few weeks. There is the threat of another point being added, after the Premier League appealed against the decision not to sanction Leicester for filing their accounts late.

On the field, Leicester are locked in a grim relegation battle. While there are financial provisions in place for League One, it would still represent a stunning fall from grace. Ten years ago they secured one of the most memorable sporting triumphs in football history as the 5,000-1 shots who pulled off a footballing miracle.

Leicester are third bottom and one point adrift of safety. They return to Championship action at home against Preston on April 3.

Gary Rowett was appointed as head coach in February and has drawn four of his seven matches in charge, losing two of them.

Leicester had not managed a clean sheet since September before his arrival but have now secured two shut-outs in the last three matches.

Rowett has been direct and clear in his approach, simplifying tactics, and offering a clean slate to players previously frozen out by his predecessor Marti Cifuentes. Jannik Vestergaard, Asmir Begovic, Aaron Ramsey and Harry Souttar will all be available following the international break after injuries. Wales international Jordan James is having a scan after being taken off in the World Cup play-off semi-final against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday night, but the initial diagnosis is not thought to be serious.

Despite the clear improvement in performance, Leicester remain in trouble. It appears to be a straight fight between Leicester, Oxford, Portsmouth, West Brom and Blackburn over who joins Sheffield Wednesday in the third tier next season.

If Leicester can secure Championship survival, major changes are expected over the summer. Leicester’s model is to sell a ‘star player’ every year and they will maintain that stance. Fatawu is admired by a number of Premier League clubs and promotion contenders in the Championship.

Patson Daka is due to leave when his contract expires in June, so Leicester will look to sign two new strikers. A new No 1 goalkeeper and full-backs are also on the list, along with a replacement for Fatawu if he is sold.

Leicester have a new football structure and recently appointed James McCarron as their new sporting director. He will work closely with recruitment chief Martyn Glover on player identification, data and analytics, sports science and the academy. McCarron will report into Jon Rudkin, the chief football officer, which has angered fans demanding change.

King Power, the club’s owner, remain under serious scrutiny from disillusioned supporters and relegation will only heighten calls for them to step down. These final seven matches will rank among the most crucial in Leicester’s history.
