So we took the 45m earlier rather than waiting till June.

Perhaps we still have the majority of the 45m sat in the bank?

Which would mean we aren't well and truly fcked?

Perhaps you're just looking at the worst case scanario, something everybody seems to be doing at the moment.

If Top announced he was giving the club £250m as a gift people would be moaning that he's only doing it due the fcuk ups by KP.

Why we would just do that with money we are paying an extreme (well exceeding the DoE rate) amount of interest for? To allow it to sit in the bank on lesser interest?

We'd be losing x % of its value in such a move.

They briefed the press last night on the accounts, so it’s any time today. They traditionally announce the accounts late in the day off memory

Last year it was 10am (yes, I'm sad enough to have actually checked). If it is going to be today it will indeed be a late one...

Perhaps they were going to use £40m of it to pay off Rudkin and then saw the error of their ways? ;)

"This is highlighted by the Club’s operating loss excluding player amortisation, impairments and player trading which decreased to £17.5M, compared with £35.4M in the previous year. Staff costs as a percentage of turnover reduced to 82.0 percent, compared with 101.6 percent in 2023/24 and 116.0 percent in the previous Premier League financial period in 2022/23."

"Leicester City Chief Executive Kevin Davies said: “These accounts reflect the reality of returning to the Premier League. Our revenues increased significantly during the year, but so too did the costs of trying to compete at that level, and the loss we are reporting is a substantial one.

“While it is natural to look first at that headline number, it is important that it is seen in its full context. The underlying operating position improved year on year as the increase in revenue was substantially larger than the increase in costs. Staff costs as a percentage of turnover reduced to their lowest level since 2017/18. However, the timing of profits generated on player trading and the absence of non-recurring other operating income heavily affects the final reported loss in comparison to the prior year."

So headline is shit, but we're getting house back in order

Would have been better off not trying to compete last year, bank the PL money and take the deduction last season...

We didn’t really compete though did we

Worth letting it digest and read the full accounts, a very interesting line about the club anticipates PSR compliance.

Some chunky bits about loans as well.

Since the year end the Company has entered into a five year loan facilities totalling £28m

with King Power International to finance the working capital requirements of the Club for the

next 12 months in addition to short term discounting facilities with Macquarie Bank to bring

forward the proceeds from the sale of four players. The company continues to hold its loan

facility with Macquarie Bank and is in compliance with the facility covenants.

Those giving them the benefit of the doubt earlier today in here. What have they done to deserve that?

'The Club’s long-term financial security and the support required for the ongoing pursuit of its long-term ambitions continues to be provided by its parent company, King Power International, under the leadership of the Club’s Chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha'

Our total headcount increased again last season btw

Some “cost control”

Headcount can include your generic club staff - admin/shop etc rather than highly paid people.

Yeah but we half-way housed it by spending a not insignificant amount on the next tranche of dross.

The charitable bit again enlighting

The Company has made total charitable donations in the year of £12,000 (2024: £518,000).

The Club supports various charities through its own charity, the VS Foundation (formerly

the LCFC Foxes Foundation). The Club provides free administration, management and

accounting support.

The Club also has several match-day collections during every season. Collections for St

John’s Ambulance, The Royal British Legion and the VS Foundation have either been

undertaken in the 2024/25 season or will be undertaken in the 2025/26 season.

Don't think anyone was doing that - purely speculating on last years £19m loss + promotion to PL + independent commission says 'positive trend' = £70m loss sounded unrealistic...
