Football is broken economically, until they are willing to tackle player wages, agent fees and transfer fees nothing will changes.

Not sure it will achieve its aims but in theory that’s the whole point of SCR. However the 85% allowable in the PL is too high and whilst wouldn’t want to applaud UEFA 70% seems far more realistic

Its worth a try.

Needs to be aligned across all leagues to be successful.

Insane numbers for a completely run of the mill club like Watford. The whole thing needs a total reset.

I'm sure we'll  beat that ,god knows how Top ,Rudkin  etc feel when we get ours announced?

Have a look at Watford’s latest accounts, 1sf year without parachute payments, it is a bleak picture. Especially if we do get relegated to league one.

Half a mill for the highest paid director to run a £26m turnover business?

LOL football.

injected cash indeed Seagrave was built using their monies

In reality cash is going to be the problem .

They did, past tense, inject cash. But the large financial doping stopped around 2020  KP /likely picked up the tab for running at a loss for a while after and as you say, eventually converted those debts to equity.

As for seagrave,.it doesn't add up. KP had stopped investing in the club at that point, desperately needed Macquirie to inject cash into the bank accounts for every PL season secured and every transfer. Yet they spunked 100m of readies on seagrave?

Someone/something paid for seagrave but I can't believe it was KP. Plus, this notion that the land of seagrave has been divided then parcelled up into multiple ownerships at the land registry. The real owners are hiding in amongst all that abracadabra.

I think the main reason this isn't ever achieved is because of one does it and others don't, the best players leave and they're shit scared of the prospect of that. Think something like that happened in Rugby.

The greed is going to end up killing it. You can already see so many signs of that now.

Financial creep from the top of the Prem has really hit home in the lower leagues. The financial restrictions in place do nothing to curb that, nothing will change as those in power seem absolutely clueless

LCFC published their accounts in previous years:

2025 - 2nd Apr

2024 - 2nd Apr

Some staggering losses already reported. I imagine West Ham will be royally ****ed if they're relegated.

It’s absolutely astounding that supposedly elite business people allow this to happen just because it’s football, there is no way in any other walk of life would they sign off on such unsustainable losses and ‘rewarding’ employees for persistent poor performance.

They briefed the press last night on the accounts, so it’s any time today. They traditionally announce the accounts late in the day off memory

And what did they brief the press?!

I don't know any more than that except all copy/articles are embargoed until the accounts are released.

Stand by for a reported £70m loss on the year!

You heard it here first!!

Dire if true. What a wasted opportunity after the reasonably positive financial results the year before. And ultimately just to end up being relegated again.
