Harvey Barnes omitted from the England squad for the game tonight vs Denmark. Hope he's not injured.

More a case of 'plays for the wrong club' than injured I suspect

I appreciate it’s only 4 games but I don’t think he’s missed any sitters this season. His finishing has been perfectly fine so far, there were a couple of chances he perhaps should have done better with at West Brom but they weren’t gilt edged.

Was obviously ruled out but he tucked away that finish vs West Ham well

The only way is because he is completely different to all of them. Just got to hope his skill set is what Southgate wants, his ability to get the ball and go past players/link intricate throughballs has gone off the charts in the last year. Thats something that bar Grealish there's a lack of on the left. Rushford isn't really creative, he's just a forward good at cutting in from the left and Sterling isn't as strong at the creative side as Barnes or Grealish IMO but he is a very good player for England and would be tough to displace.

And getting transferred to a big club.

But right now he's not good enough. Yet.

Was there any point in calling him up? Seriously? He’d have been better off training with the club than wasting his time for 20 minutes and being coached by the most well paid PE teacher in the world all week.

chilwell v watford, vardy v bournemouth?

Whilst Vardy vs Bournemouth was iconic, Barnes' goal was really unique, and the technique required to get it right was really tough. I found most of the goals Maddison scored more impressive than that Chilwell goal tbh.

Why is it that one match he can look like the English Messi and then the next like Josh Low?

Really want him to be one of the great Leicester players especially as he is one of our own but he needs to start manning up a bit more. Was pointless tonight as was Perez.

Because he is young. With the right finishing coaching, I’m convinced he could have a career like say Raheem Stirling or dare I say, Ross Barkley

It seems like losing the ball/pot touches is his achilles heel at the moment.

Suspect that it's a confidence thing, more than anything else.

Barnes speaks so confidently FWIW.

Calling it now, he'll be a pundit after he retires. Carries himself so well in interviews and knows his stuff.
