City1884 Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 The worrying thing is the fact he isn’t in the squad at all, especially considering there is a long gap between matches after today. He’s just signed a new contract, but let’s hope he hasn’t insisted on a release clause in that contract. If he has only signed on the condition that, for example, an £80m bid from a Champions League club will be accepted, we could have no control over this whatsoever........
happy85 Posted 4 October 2020 Author Posted 4 October 2020 Matt piper thinks injury could be a cover up
Fox92 Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 (edited) Anything could be an issue. Plus nowadays they take tests. Just because he's not in squad doesn't mean he's going anywhere. Plus he's just signed a 5 year deal so his value will be 80m-100m and United won't spend on Sancho because Dortmund are asking for "too much". Edited 4 October 2020 by Fox92

TrickyTrevLeftPeg Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 You must be daft as a brush if you're thinking Maddison is off to United. 1) they don't need him. 2) he signed a new contract literally a few weeks ago. 3) transfer window closes in 24 hours and we have no replacement lined up so would be over £100mill to compensate 4) they won't pay that for Sancho so why would they pay that for Maddison 5) Close Thread. 3

A release clause wouldn’t be active until after the first season of signing, be bloody ridiculous otherwise... giving we would have zero time to find a replacement. He signed the deal so Man U and the like wouldn’t bother

A release clause doesn't mean he's off anyway. The player can still opt to stay. Everyone at panic stations when transfer window closes tomorrow. A new 5yr deal + so close to transfer window closing would take a stupid bid for him to go. And as I said above they won't pay for Sancho so they ain't gonna bid the same for Maddison. Edingleyfox Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 No way are we going to sell him in the last day of the transfer window. The speculation is getting silly now. Maddison really likes the club and the manager so I think we should stay calm (for this season at least)

foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 (edited) Man U just signed Cavani so are scraping the barrel, they haven’t signed Sancho because unwilling to place the big bid. Maddison would command a similar fee probably more now the window closes tomorrow Edited 4 October 2020 by foxes_rule1978
Leicesterpool Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 He's an amazing player but £100 million wow! would never say his near that price tag. 1

Fox1970 Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 Maddison own a small dairy farm near Lutterworth. One of his cows in struggling with delivering. He has a calf problem, or two 1

Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 Man Utd won’t pay above 90 million for Sancho which is a position they actually need to strengthen, surely they aren’t going to pay over this for a player who plays in a position where they have Pogba & Fernandes, even Van de Beek can’t get a game! 3

This is definitely the most convincing argument I've seen for this not happening. He would be pure padding for Man Utd and would cost a similar amount to their #1 target.
