Modern players are on average a lot lighter than forty years ago , they are trained to be able to run a lot of distance in a match. Does that mean they are more prone to hamstring , ligament and tendon problems. If there are any physiotherapists out there perhaps they can let us know.

I think he'll be sold in the summer, I wouldn't be that bothered either.

One of Ricky or Timmy would be my guess, and retire the position, it’s cursed

I’d be surprised if we got rid of Timmy, he’s an absolute class act when he’s fully fit. Riccy however is done with us think, he can’t get back to full fitness and is a shadow of his former self.

Castagne has been pretty poor this season and looking back at last season he only had two very good spells and that was his opening few months and then March/April and then tailed off again.

I just don't think it's worked for him here, but he's still highly regarded in Italy and we'll get suitors for him at a good price.

He won’t do when players keep going in with both feet! His current injury was out of his hands just a terrible tackle.

I do see where you’re coming from. Perhaps I’m clinging onto those good performances, but I do think there’s a player there behind the injuries. But JJ is the best fullback at the club in my opinion! So fingers crossed he can come back and stay fit!

To be honest, Riccardo gets an easy time from the fans in comparison, as when he was at his best, he was a top level player. He (not intentionally) is able to trade on that, but Castagne does have such high high's to trade on (witrh fans). If he gets back to his best (The latin equivalent should be written under our crest) then I agree on JJ

Depends on Ricky and JJ fitness.

Our fullback choices are Thomas, JJ, Ricky, Castange and Bertrand.

Question marks over 2 fitness wise and one ability wise.

Can't see it myself.

I'm already expecting Tielemans and Soyuncu to go with only 12 months left on there deals.

Can't see us selling any other first teamer on top.

Massive summer for us, get it wrong and we could be in trouble.

Gosh all I seem to hear players getting sold this summer, Tielemans we all know he's probably, now Castagne and Soyuncu. I feel for Soyuncu who has to to double the work when he has to play with Vestergaard.

We should be like Arsenal who are buying good young players to build for the future.

No, we really shouldn't!

One character aspect of Rodgers is that he appears to be a calm bloke. Assuming that that's correct it will be an asset in keeping cohesion within the squad.

The real problem is short-termism in football. I've criticised him, wrongly or rightly, over perceived shortcomings, but three years isn't nearly long enough to establish a structure based around an individual. Wenger and Ferguson managed to achieve that, but it's a model that's long out of fashion (if it ever was).

The club has had more than its fair share of ill-fortune with injuries and that has had an undeniable domino effect.

Players need match participation to build & maintain fitness levels and the edge that comes with continued 'combat', but there's a point where too much leads to health issues.

At least we know now that it's an issue taking his full attention. I think it's also been indicative that bringing in players and expecting them to hit the ground running is unrealistic.

I suspect that postponing matches for Covid reasons has been a godsend for City - above all. But then comes the challenge of fixture backlog. Ay caramba :S!

...Rodgers does remind me of Boris.. he will only address things, if it is clear that the blame is coming his way!!!

He needs an independent assessment to overlook what is happening within the structure he has created.

Each department are not going to say that it is their fault, there is a great deal of self preservation built into departments evaluating themselves.

The conclusion for Rodgers will be that we will continue to experience these injuries as the scheduling of games do not allow the space for recovery, and seeing next season will be impacted by the World Cup, there is no hope to gaining any kind of normality for some time.

Nah I like Timmy. I think he’ll come good but if Ricardo finds the form he had before his injury problems then I can see us having a problem because there’s no way you drop a fully fit, in-form Ricardo.

Once Justin is back fit again, with Thomas also, Timmy wont be playing at left back anymore.

Time will tell.

If that ever happens (all fit) I'm not sure it will be a problem. Fortunately they're all capable of playing LB so 3 into 2 isn't an issue to cover injuries and rotation. If Thomas continues his rise then it might get more of an issue to ensure he gets his opportunities.

I would throw Bertrand into the discussion as well, but I'd only be taking the p*ss!

Only problem I see is that Castagne won’t want to play second fiddle to Ricardo. He will want first team action to keep his place within the Belgium squad. We would have Justin at left back with Thomas waiting in the wings so Castagne won’t fit there. This is all going off Ricardo and Justin finding that exceptional form pre-injury though.

How many times have we said the replacements need to be as good as the starter, once you get that you no longer have a 1st or 2nd choice. If we play (snatching a figure) 50 games per season each would get roughly 25 games there is no way in that role/position 1 gets 3 times more than the other.

We constantly strive for this & as soon as we get it we then start wanting to sell players off because we think they will be unhappy, everyone needs to buy into what we all want for Leicester City; the club, players & fans we either want a strong 22 & have to live with rotation but become a strong team or we accept what we have been & buy young & sell for profit to then have to replace & start the process again & never really push on.
Surely the 300m sat on the Man City bench will want to play every week but accept they can't, if we want to be talked about with the big boys we need to act like the big boys (within our financial constrants) there is no reason why we can't have JJ, RP, TC & LT covering the 2 position even a 3rd as TC & JJ cover the 3rd CB slot its a win win & any combination would be in the best 3/4 pairs within those positions in the league ...but i think we all agree RB can do 1

Edit - I'm aware you didn't actually meantion selling Buzz but thought Castagne wouldn't want to hang around but thats the part about everyone buying in

Can we get the Aberdeen lad we’ve been linked with this window and loan him back for the rest of the season, then in the summer get Aarons from a relegated Norwich and loan the Aberdeen lad to them for some Championship experience. That would allow us to get some money for one of Timmy/Ricardo depending on who’s less injured, and then the summer after we assess the position again

Justin I see on the left for when we need a LWB, with Thomas playing when we need a proper LB

I’m surprised there seems to be so many people wanting rid of Tim. He started his first season in flying form and generally had a very good first year albeit with a little dip due to injury. The facial fractures were a real scare in the euros and I think he has understandably struggled a bit this term playing through injuries. That said he is one of those players who gives full commitment to the cause. He can play on both sides of the defence and in a 3. His versatility and teamwork is very valuable to the team. How many times have we struggled for numbers in defensive positions. Im a big fan. Get well soon Tim can’t wait to have you back.

I like Timmy, he’s seemingly got a great mentality and whilst he’s admits himself he’s not been at his best whatsoever, I think there are a good few players I’d be looking to sell in front of him to be honest.

...an interesting look at resolving the situation and in some way an astute answer!!!

The only flaw that I could see would be Ramsay not wanting to go to a Championship team having agreed to come to us and compete in the Premier League. He may be an employee but he is not some piece of furniture to be relocated on a whim.

For me he looks like a real talent and just the sort of profile we should be signing. Get him and then find some more similarly talented youngsters further up the pitch to compliment our home grown stars.

Yes, would depend on a lot of things lining up like Aarons wanting to come to us (he was in the same successful Luton youth team as JJ, Maddison settled well after making the move from Norwich), Norwich wanting Ramsay, plus we’d have to be upfront about our intended route for him and hope he doesn’t get a credible offer of going into someone’s first team, as well as getting an acceptable offer for one of Timmy/Ricky. Perhaps a solution more suited to a North American-style league where players don’t get a choice about where they’re traded or sent down to!

Edit: plus we added VDC in the summer so it’s very unlikely we’ll buy two more youngsters at RB 😂
