Whoever told he was going in the summer appears to have iffy info. Tanner has confirmed this morning that he's very much part of the clubs plans. We've seen in the last two games he's our steadiest and most consistent full back even playing on his less comfortable side.

No chance we should sell.

 

Plays full back, wing back and can play as a third centre half. With him, Thomas, Justin and Ricardo we have four very solid fullbacks.

 

The only concern would be injuries and whether or not Justin and Ricardo can shake off their injury for good.

I'm more concerned by Castagne's injuries if I'm honest, he's had more injuries than them pair but just none of them quite as serious.

 

I still think this one will be largely taken out of our hands.

I don't believe that the club have any intentions of selling him but if other players cant be moved on as budgeted for then we could have to sell out of necessity ......

I prefer what we have, compared to FT & fans maybes...

IMO all our FBs,including Cover have proven their Value & quality...

At present I See no reason for any Investment for a new FB..

Depends how our summer pans out...

Yes that's what I think. Club love him, but another injury this season or AC Milan or Juve come knocking and he says he wants to go then we'd sell given the obstacles we have at raising funds without selling a Maddison, Barnes, Ndidi etc.

Good solid player without being as spectacular as Justin and Ricardo. Versatile and fairly consistent. His injury record is a worry though. He played 27 league games last season. He's on 18 atm this season so he'll play even less because it's guaranteed he'll be out for a few more before May. Its a problem that he keeps missing 10+ games a season..

But we need at least 4 full backs. You'd only end up needing to replace him anyway.

He came in as a full back replacement for Chilwell, known as being able to play LB and RB. 

 

I think Rodgers has decided quite rightly Justin is number 1 RB with Ricardo having seemed to have turned in to a stuttering race horse. If Castagne can maintain consistency at LB and he is happy  then fair enough. 

 

Personally though if an opportunity arrose to go and be first choice RB elesewhere I think he may leave.

Yes absolutely and I look at how much we've scouted Calvin Ramsay and think if put in a position to find another £15m or so they can flip Castagne for Ramsay, although it's a huge gamble.

Justin is better at LB, I'm scratching my head why he's changed it again after how good he was there last season and how mediocre Castagne was (who was excellent at times on the right)
