Leicester has a larger population than New Orleans, Cleveland, Orlando and Pittsburgh (not combined)

I always assumed all fairly well known cities in the US would dwarf our more known cities, let alone Leicester.

US cities are big space wise but less population dense.

Hope all went well?

I bore people to death with a training course I run (spaces always available) out of the Old Hall Hotel across the road and visited your venue frequently. Lovely place.

Yes thank you. I'm not totally well but I think it was generally OK.

Me too. But then if you do the maths, the US population is only five times more than us (but landmass x40)

Even Russia only has just over double our population

The metro populations of the cities you mention dwarf Leicester.Even if you add on the urban sprawl

Yes,The  population statistics in North America seem to be as confusing and misleading as they are over here.

Don’t mind a bit of darts in a pub but ****ing cant stand the dress up ally pally lark.

It’s really a lot of fun, you wouldn’t regret it if you went. There are very few places in our facemasked and plastic society where you can do wtf you want and dress how the hell you like, a Hearn event is one

One man’s pleasure is another man’s pain as the saying goes.
It would be near to the least appealing thing for me.
No problem with others enjoying themselves, I love diversity.
Not for me though.

Yeh get that, that's why I would not have replied with my same comment to half the misery guts in this section LOL. SemperEadem seems quite lively, outgoing and regularly does things with a group of about 500 judging by his previous posts on the beer, restaurants and groundhopping threads. Hence I would imagine he'd like it

I would often frequent the Phoenix bar at Ally Pally when I lived in north London and have seen this more than a few times when the darts is on.

Blokes being dragged out by bouncers each grabbing one limb. Once saw them just open the main doors and throw the guy out "a leg and a wing"-style. Good stuff.

Having been quite a few times I can confirm its an eye-opener.

The game-changer was getting driven to the door and straight out when you want to leave as the train situation is diabolical (or I always found it so).

The stewarding is ridiculously heavy-handed and they seem to just let everything go for a bit and then their pre-set timer goes off and they turf a few out.

I've never understood the assertion that the mainstream media in Britain has a left wing bias. There be may be some outlets that have a liberal bias, but certainly not left wing. The Daily Mail, The Sun, The Telegraph & The Times are just right wing mouth pieces.

*Insert comment about Americans and their incredibly skewed Overton Window and how it bleeds over into their commentary about the UK and sadly some UK folks buy into it here*
