All my foreign cousins looking properly confused as I danced around the pool…

“but they’ve been playing for 5 hours ???”

”No, 5 days”

The look of total confusion on their faces!!!

Don’t mind Siraj at all. We’d all love him if he was English. Although it is funny it happened to him.

Absolutely. I'd love to have a fast bowler with that sort of aggression. I think Carse could be that sort of player for us.

Carse is such a find for us.

15 days of test cricket so far (incl rain affected days) and we're still 2-1 down. Somehow!

They must be emotionally drained after that, let alone physically! Performances like that hopefully galvanises India to keep going and not feel too disheartened.

Shame OT is 9 days away but they all need a lot of rest.

Stokes' effort here on a par with Ngolo Kante.

Massive engine on him lol

My favourite Stokes bowling performance was 2019 in Cape town

I’ve gotten out exactly like that too. Can’t believe I’m almost feeling sorry for Siraj lol.

I've had even worse. Was so windy, we took the bails off as they kept falling off anyway and I played on with the ball speed probably half of Siraj's one. No way it would have dislodged the bails normally but still had to walk lol

Crazy that England are ahead having basically lost or been behind every day of the series so far.

Out of curiosity Stan, assuming you're British/English born with India heritage? How come you support India over England? Feel like I'd probably do the same in your scenario (but also very English so maybe not ha). Always interested as to what aways that choice. I had a friend with a Spanish mum and he was such a twat about England in football; desperate for them to lose. Very odd but he was an Arsenal fan after all!

This is why great Test match players are the legends. You can manufacture players to whack balls for 20 overs, or bowl 4 overs of whatever. You cannot churn out players who can concentrate for hours, face long hostile spells, a dying pitch, ball changes, scoreboard pressure etc. Bowlers who can keep going in heat, with the ball and pitch doing little and manage to make something happen.

Top class stuff.

Can you imagine how good the beer tastes right now for them. I'll slag off players for being prats but ill very rarely criticise them for how they got out or a choice of shot. This sport is ridiculously hard - mentally and physically.

*checks posts to see if hes slagged anyone off for sweeping*

Yep, just what I've grown up with and chosen to support India.

To be honest, I'd back (as opposed to support per se) England against any side as I have to appreciate I'm born here. So I can't, don't and won't hate them at any point.

But India are always the team I've supported since I've known what cricket is like.

Same with Leicester to a loosely similar extent. I wasn't born there, never lived there, but followed family in supporting them and ran with it and not looked back.

Would have been cool if they had tied, with the first innings scores being level as well. Wonder how many times, if ever, that's happened at any level

Never at first class level. It was discussed on the radio coverage.

Fair enough. And I'm exactly the same in the second scenario so that's probably a good way for me to understand it. Mind you, my choice would have been Gillingham who are crap, and the place is even worse lol. Though to be fair, I probably support them more than most people support their supposed first team (big 6 fans)

So what do you do now for Old Trafford?

Do they rest Archer? Bashir surely comes out. Woakes probably due a rest. Crawley has to be dropped.

Atkinson, Tongue, Cook, Bethell all waiting. I think they'll make a couple of those changes.

Atkinson, Dawson, Archer and Carse please. Then play wood instead of Archer at the oval.

And to add to this, there have been 69 incidences of tied first class matches.
