Baristow showing why he should be opening in the T20s. Just as I type this he's out, but great innings. Need someone to get us over the line, hopefully Billings can show he can be the finisher.

Trouble is we've got about 4/5 players who should be opening the batting in T20s.

Oh bloody hell lol can't see us getting over the line now, was fearful we chose too many bowlers and Tom Curran is pretty much a waste of a spot.

I can see Tom Curran coming in and getting a quick 30 or something, hopefully Ali and Billings can stay in for 10-12 overs at least.

Could have really frustrated them in the middle overs, wasn't any need to keep the run rate up. But some really poor shot choices and now we need a couple of strong partnerships I just can't see happening from here.

Why isn't root at 3? Thought he'd back given he doesn't play T20s. The white ball team in both formats being chopped and changed, people moving around the order.

He's being rested. :dunno:

I was typing "we need another 6 overs from these" just as Bairstow chose to go for another 6, forgivable but a poor choice, from that point I have no idea what the game plan was.

Wickets 1 to 7, you can't even look at the India bowling and say it was good.

Felt inevitable as soon as Morgan almost got caught on his 1st ball.

Would have been a completely different outcome if we'd had an actual number 3.

Surely if Root is rested then we have to have an alternative in the squad?

Stokes is not the alternative!

It meant that after the incredible start the next batsman in went with the same approach and ended up getting out quickly... rather than someone like Root coming in and calming things down.

I can only assume the selectors are treating the whole Indian tour as a glorified net opportunity . An attempt to give as many players as possible some match practice before the English summer and next years ashes . Fair enough but losing can become a habit
