Without the strategy that race would've been utterly forgetable

I wonder why though. It seems like a cool track with plenty of space for overtaking?

Like I said it’s all about the tyres, no one can push hard else they’ll destroy their levels of grip and you can’t follow a car closely as the dirty air will also kill your tyres.  It’s a no win for the drivers

Usually these tracks that are great for testing don't make great races ala Spain. I'm surprised they've not altered the variation cause there's so many configurations to it as wwll

Bottas needs to work on his pitlane exit strategy lol

3 place grid penalty and 2 points on his licence.

I've just got a feeling that this will not be Mercedes season.  Everything is going against them at the moment.  Think it is Max's to lose tbh.

Max to win and Hamo to finish 2nd I reckon.

Only takes a couple of DNFs to turn it around, but RB certainly look better atm IMO.

That crash in Baku is gonna hurt Hamilton come the end of the season.

I reckon it's gonna be Maxs this year, unless the Merc quickly improves, think it's just not the best car anymore and it's meaning Hamilton is having to push even harder and make slight mistakes as the other drivers do.

Verstappen the man to beat again .

Bottas actually out qualified Hamilton but has that grid penalty.

Russell so close to to Session 3 - 11th place .

Nightmare qualifying  for Ocon and Ricciardo compared to their team mates .

Russell now starts P10 ,Tsunoda has a grid penalty.

The correct decision for Yuki. Should have moved to the side. Dangerous watching on Bottas' onboard camera as he approached the corner with Tsunoda still in the way!

There's been a problem for a while now of cars losing performance when following another car. What would be ideal is having less DRS and more natural racing. I think there's a balance when it comes to overtaking, Monaco is the only track where it's a real problem imo. If overtaking is too easy then there's no real penalty for making an error or otherwise losing a position. You always want track position to be worth at least something.

This is why they're reintroducing ground-effect aero from next season...  Hopefully it'll have the effect we need it to :fc:

It’ll have the effect of whoever comes up with the best system, probably red bull because newey is the best aero engineer in the world, will win
