We’ve still had a qualifying season for this though, which gives entertainment on the Friday. I’ve been to lots of Grand Prix and the Friday is just a dead day from a fan point of view.

I like Friday's. You can sit anywhere you want so usually walk a slow lap of the circuit watching from each corner.

No he doesn’t

If you make the effort to go to a Grand Prix weekend but think watching f1 cars for a couple of hours is “a dead day” I’m not sure why you’re there. Friday is usually my favourite day. First arrival at the track, super relaxing watching the cars, talking with other fans, freedom of all the grandstands… etc. Sure, there’s more action on Sunday but to write off Friday as boring is really weird to me.

I hate that f1 seems to be going down an Americanised ‘we need action every second’ route. I thought the SPRINT was pretty hideous. Nothing will ever happen at the front because, having lost the position to Max, why on earth would Hamilton risk crashing or losing positions to screw him for tomorrow when 26 points are available, yet he could only gain 2 points on Max by overtaking him in the sprint?

I’ll admit I’m quite resistant to changing the format, but if we have to then this definitely wasn’t the answer. It also completely ruined qualifying and kills the excitement for drivers. Max sounded super excited to ‘win’ that race didn’t he, and Hamilton’s tidy qualifying lap now counts for absolutely nothing.

Yes sorry I realised it was the top 3 who get points which seems a bit unfair.

I agree for many it wasn’t really much of a “race”

Maybe needs to be shorter with more incentives .

Imagine cheering that. This country.

As long as everyone is ok it’s pretty much what everyone else wants to see. Some action. High speed racing and the odd crash, as I say as long as anyone involved is unharmed.

If Hamilton is at fault what kind of penalty could he see?

10 second penalty I would imagine… putting him at the back. What an exciting race we have

Both at fault for me.

how can verstappen be at at fault when Hamilton clips his back wheel coming up the inside bearing in mind they’ve both got to get round the corner.

It looks 50/50 Ti me, I can see why both will blame each other… hamilton doesn’t get tight enough but max turns in

I’d imagine Lewis will get a penalty though. Both teams scurrying to the race director.

max didn’t need to come in so far… but then he doesn’t expect Lewis to be sticking his car there either. It is a racing incident though for me. I see it from both sides… max does like to turn in on drivers and sometimes they don’t budge

Max weaving could be considered dangerous driving.

Not for me Lewis is clearly at fault, he didn’t have a chance up the inside of Max especially on that corner of the track, Lewis hasn’t make the apex which he should be making at least if he’s going to attempt that move, don’t think Max could have gone much wider to make the corner

I still believe there will be a penalty, could be put down to a first lap racing incident.

It’s just a racing incident, no penalty for me.
Formula 1 is usually a bit of a precession, can’t penalise drivers when they try to race and provide a bit of entertainment

The more I look at it, there is nothing deliberate at all just fast hard racing…
