Comes across as not being that fond of us since he left?

He seemed to take really badly to Sven being appointed. I think he was mainly positive about Pearson, haven't heard much from him in years.

Ended up 3 rows back jumping up and down with some woman in a bright yellow coat…. Mayhem

Who else missed it as they were too busy watching spider Kalac run into the goalmouth ?

I didn’t have another “super Steve…”. Left in me !!!

Responsible for one of the most epic football days of my life !

That could be... the winner from Claridge. IT IS!!!!!!!

Relatively short spell but a glorious time with us.

Watched this earlier and the commentator (Alan Parry?) sounds totally distracted, disengaged as he says what he's seeing... until the ball hits the net and he explodes in disbelief.

Think he was still figuring out the goalkeeping change (like the Palace defence!). Was probably about to say something like “That could be a masterstroke by O’Neill” or similar re Kalac coming on.

Will always remember the play off goal against Crystal Palace in the play off final 1996, and the goal against Middlesbrough League Gup Replay 1997 to win the League Gup.

THAT goal made me a Foxes fan.

SHIT, I could have been a Palarse fan!

I was right behind the goal, amazing day and we throughly deserved the win.

Also remember that tackle from Walsh on that dirty bastard Hopkins,  the hardest tackle I ever witnessed

In another thread the other day I mentioned the problem with partisan pundits and how the best people for the job are journeyman ex-players who don't have any particular affiliation to any one team.

Steve fits that category perfectly, and always came across as a decent, level-headed pundit. Though I guess he's happy doing his thing as manager at Salisbury for now.

He did play most of his career in the second tier and below, which is why he was Manish's second in command when the BBC had the football league coverage. But by God he'd be an improvement from some of the partisan BS we get from the likes of Jenas om MOTD!

He's spoken about us very fondly quite a few times hasn't he?

I remember him getting the hump a few times when O’Neill dragged him and put big Matty up top in the last 20 mins 💙

We'd notice him and Manish a bit more with the Leicester links and our time in the Championship back in the first half of the 2010s. Once we got promoted they more or less were forgotten by us.

Glad that it's behind us now bit it's one thing I would miss on a Saturday evening pre streaming and top flight Football.

I thought he'd died or something when this thread went hot!

As well as the other goals mentioned was the one when he returned to our place with Millwall and scored after 15 seconds or something. Over 30,000 in and all you could hear was the Millwall players celebrating as the away fans had been banned. We scored 4 in reply so it was alright in the end.
