foxfanazer Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 Can they get it done before they play us please

Stadt Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 Newcastle have the luxury of spending whatever it take to stay up so that signing makes sense. They need a CB and LB too if they want to stay up. Unless Burnley pull a Cornet type surprise out of the bag they’re down and Dyche is off in the summer. Then consigning themselves to the championship again for decades. The lack of investment has been scandalous 3
Unabomber Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 Seems to me that Newcastle are mainly doing this to pay a price to significantly weaken a relegation rival rather than cos they think he will make them that much better. 2

OntarioFox Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 (edited) Still think (and hope) Newcastle will sink. Would be lovely. They can spaff all the money they want, but getting the team to click in time to avoid being cut adrift is a huge ask. The annoying thing is that Chris Wood will easily fire them back out of the second tier if they do flush. I was banking on them bottling it in the play-offs and then getting trashed by FFP. CrispinLA in Texas Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 Match coming up should be titled Apprentice verses Master (don't know whether to call Brentford Masters but seems to be a lot of stuff written about them). So Southampton's new owners want them to be a cross between Brentford, RB Salzburg RB Leipzig and Leicester. Read that one of their new owners is a former Brentford' director, who wants to use the data science and moneyball soccer analysis to find cheap players who are underrated. Also concentrate on younger players who will be worth alot in the future.

Dahnsouff Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 Aren’t Saints playing to their new ownership tonight?

Nalis Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 I hope Brentford go down as Frank is a tool, unfortunately it doesnt look likely it will happen. 1

Stadt Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 Brentford will be here for a long time. Only way I can see them dropping is if they lose a manager and several players in one summer. A bit like Southampton did actually, they’ve never recovered properly. Benham is a switched on bloke, they’ve came up and immediately matched what Brighton have done (if not stylistically) for far less. I’d back Brentford to finish above Newcastle for a couple of seasons.
Suzie the Fox Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 I don't mind Brentford, Frank is a bit of a tw4t, but then so are most managers.
KFS Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 How are they where they are? I swear every time I check results Brentford are losing

Wilson is injured far too often tbf. Even in Newcastle are doing this just to get themselves out the shit they wouldn’t get any benefit from taking the high ground.
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 11 January 2022 Posted 11 January 2022 No way Vestergaard and Bertrand can play the way Southampton play now, they'll just about last 10min
