The Horse's Mouth Posted 13 January 2022 Posted 13 January 2022 I mean Wilson is the one of like two players who don't need replacing, Wood is great backup and weakens their nearest relegation rivals, it's a smart signing

Trippier is a decent wing back, wood as a big man is a good foil for someone like Wilson to play off. It will be very direct but likely effective and enough to keep them up.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 13 January 2022 Posted 13 January 2022 Wood is a streaky player, was it 6 goals in his first 3 games here? Wouldn’t shock me if he got a hattrick against Watford on Saturday
Leicesterpool Posted 13 January 2022 Posted 13 January 2022 (edited) Sad thing for Chris Wood is even though he's been signed with in mind in getting the vital goals to keep Newcastle in the premier league, in the long term if they do stay up I can't see him being part of the plans especially if they go on a big spending spree in the summer to take them to the next level. Sure he’s aware but happy to double his wages for the remained of his career
CloudFox Posted 13 January 2022 Posted 13 January 2022 The Wood buy is definitely overpriced, but it does make a lot of sense if you look into it. JJ Bull of Tifo does a pretty good breakdown of why it's likely Howe wanted him: TL;DW: Wilson is injured. Newcastle are weak through the middle of the park and defend too deep. Wood can be used to relieve pressure as a hold up man, pulling the team up the pitch. 1
Popular Post The Bear Posted 14 January 2022 Popular Post Posted 14 January 2022 Getting ridiculous now. The PL have shown themselves to be weak as piss as usual. The Arsenal Spurs game again has nothing to do with Covid, just injuries and suspensions. And Burnley are ONE player short of having to play the game, and that player is now in Newcastle. Hassenhutl is spot on with his comments. 7
Wymsey Posted 14 January 2022 Posted 14 January 2022 Am surprised to see Brighton and Norwich on this list (Leicester 19th). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59995156

The refs, the wind, the schedule, the colour of the shirts, the crowd, the lack of crowd, other teams picking weakened sides, it being too wet and any other excuse you can think of. As soon as there was a get out, it was snapped up. 5

Wymsey Posted 14 January 2022 Posted 14 January 2022 Am fearing that it may be the end of Ranieri at Watford tomorrow.
turlo Posted 14 January 2022 Posted 14 January 2022 How can players be affected by covid if they never had it? They were false positives remember Jurgen, hence they returned straight away after the postponed first leg of the league cup semi final. 1
marbles Posted 14 January 2022 Posted 14 January 2022 Season needs to be cancelled and thrown out. The league needs to figure out how to fix this mess they’ve created before starting back up. 2
Matt Posted 14 January 2022 Posted 14 January 2022 (edited) Fucking draw a line through the season. It's dead. It's a joke, laughable. Integrity gone. And someone had the guile to question why I claimed this season needed a bigger asterisk next to it than the 2019/20 season. To think people thought the rules would get tougher and less games would get called off come January. Seems easier and more to me. Edited 14 January 2022 by Matt 4
st albans fox Posted 14 January 2022 Posted 14 January 2022 Arsenal spurs will now be off tbf, Arsenal have a lot of injuries but if it’s xhaka’s suspension that takes them under the limit then they should have to play it
Sunbury Fox Posted 14 January 2022 Posted 14 January 2022 I swear clubs are now getting games called off with fewer players unavailable than we had missing v Man City and Liverpool over Xmas.
