FIFA doesn’t change its spots does it…

It's absolutely bonkers that UEFA still had Gazprom sponsorship all over this round of fixtures and that Zenit were still allowed to take part.

The money is everything. Its pretty grotesque.

Well this is good news that UEFA is moving the Champions League Final to France away from Russia. Well done UEFA.

Putin won't be bothered but he has to realise he will be Billy No Mates before long.

Punish Poland unfortunately.

Hopefully every other side has some backbone like Poland, it'll force UEFAs hand. Russia can't have a game if no one will play them.

Still Russia. Everyone will still refuse to play them.

Poland has already said it will not play Russia under these daft neutral terms, so FIFA has an immediate decision to make. Either it gives Russia a pass and so many teams pull out of the World Cup that it has to be cancelled, or it kicks Russia out and Infantino faces the terrifying prospect of explaining that decision to his mate Putin…

FIFA haven't got a clue. A complete ban placed on Russia is the only way forward.

What they have proposed is absolutely bloody stupid and I hope all countries, the England FA included, will tell them as such.

FIFA don't really understand the current situation in Ukraine and the despicable behaviour of Putin.

FIFA have had a rethought and are now to suspend Russia entirely.

Yes seems  common sense has finally been used .

Guess Poland will get a bye in the play offs ?

It appears so.

Leipzig have been given a pass by UEFA.

Cynic in me is they're using the conflict to secure byes. The players have nothing to do with the invasion at the end of the day

That is true about the players and manager.

Almost impossible to fulfil the matches though as no-one would go to Russia and no-one would want to either host the matches and the club/national officials.

Fair point but guess they are only being punished like Yugoslavia were in the 90s.

Yeah I guess, I guess they're is no perfect scenario but I'd hope if they are excluded whoever was runner up to them in the group takes their place,

The Athletic has run a piece on the Bundesliga impact of Germany's hard break with Russia..

shift in public mood left Schalke with no option but to take the plunge and ditch Gazprom, and now they too are looking at an uncertain future. A club with reportedly more than €200 million (£166.67m) worth of debt has just snipped its primary economic lifeline, leaving it potentially on the brink.

In the last few days, the club’s leadership has struck a bullish tone, saying that they remain financially operational and hope to announce a new sponsor soon. In the meantime, Schalke may be reduced to the begging bowl, with Dortmund already showing signs that they would be willing to help bail out their local rivals.

The idea that other clubs in the league might come together to bail out a direct rival might seem anathema to English football fans, but in Germany, there is a longer tradition of solidarity between clubs. Bayern loaned Dortmund around €2 million in 2005, and have also played fundraising friendlies against cash-strapped clubs such as St Pauli and Union Berlin. In a survey on Kicker’s website this week, 60 per cent of respondents said they thought other clubs should offer Schalke financial support.
