Anyone know how this geezer got a gig for the euros after his shambolic interpretation throughout the premier league season. I assumed he would have been sacked yet he has popped up a few times offering his wrong opinion on ITV. Has anyone genuinely been watching a game and thought “I’d like to hear from Peter Walton”. No offence to the guy but wow.

Agree. Jobs for the boys it seems. Similar to some of the pundits employed. God knows how they get the gig.

Agree. I like bt sport but he's become a.figure of fun on there. Every man and his dog knows he's out of his depth 

 

Broadcasters.normally have screen tests etc before the are let loose on the public. How the hell bt let.that one slip is.amazing,.let.alone itv

I would love to know how much dollar he is receiving for simply saying different versions of:

 

"The officials got that one spot on, there".

 

I suspect that finding out would make me angry.

Like I don't mind having a referee's opinion, but all he does is back the officials regardless. Someone could commit GBH and he would still agree with the referee's decision to not card the player.

I definitely think Peter Walton getting a gig at another channel for the Euros is as big an upset as you're likely to witness all tournament.

The guy is completely pointless, he just agrees with the officials' decisions.

Pete is a lovely fella and an experienced ref having spent a lot of time outside of the uk running refereeing excellence centre developments since finishing up in the PL.

 

He's helped me out a few times, lives near me and is sound.
