Being offered around to Prem clubs, hopefully we do take a look

Ooooh :o Surely we are at least considering a RW even if the rumour mill has gone cold. Bailey would tick some boxes and is a very exciting prospect still.

If Villa buy him for 30m after Beundia for 40m? does that mean Grealish is  off?

Villa seem to be ignoring financial fair play. Their chief exec is on the committee for it. They're also not in Europe so they're likely to get away with it. Spent about 400m in the last 5 years. Absolute joke.

Undecided on him. Would actually like to see him for a year in the prem before I gamble.,

One example I see something in but at the wrong team is Pepe. Pepe would be dynamite here.

Probably at the same time as you.

Are we going to do this?  Do you want to?  I mean it’s hot and I’d rather have a nice cold beer after working all day on my farm. If you insist, though, I can oblige.

I take that as a no then. lol

Is it only the first season  back up that they get away with ffp caps etc? I know they were in the crapper in the championship and that if they hadn't have gone up when they did then they'd likely have been demoted a division and with a hefty transfer embargo. Ridiculous.

They really really want Maddison though. I'd hold out for Pepe & Reiss Nelson & £15 million plus 30% sell on (when JM goes to a proper club)

Why though? They already have Smith Rowe.

Ok they’ve lost Odegaard, but surely they will just play Smith Rowe more for his development. Honestly don’t see where Madders fits in that team.

Not our concern is it? I mean, I don't know or care. I'm just telling you what's going on.

Arsenal's transfer strategy over the last x years has been unfathomable.

Of course it isn’t I’m just curious.

I asked an Arsenal fan the same question and he came up with some guff about Madders being more adept as a right ACM where as Smith Rowe plays as a left ACM.

I’d say that when he isn’t playing as 10 Madders likes to drift in from the left to cut in on his right foot, which is the same as Smith Rowe.

Strange club and fan base.

Yes. Sorry. It wasn't a dig, genuinely.

I don't get it. They dont really need a Maddison. Maybe if they had Europe... or injuries... but I can't see its appealing to him.

But I don't get involved in the why's and wherefor's. If I hear something, I pass it on.

Do you think it will happen?

I personally doubt it as they won’t pay what we will want or offer the players that would tempt us, even after rumoured antics.

Obviously if he does want to go that may change the position, but without handing in a transfer request (which I doubt as he will lose any bonus agreements) the club has the power here.

I've never paid much attention to him despite the continuous hope to sign him for the last couple of years. I can't help but think though if he's has good as people think he is then a) why are they supposedly whoring him around the premier League? And b) why are Aston Villa seemingly the only club interested at what is a reasonable price these days considering what you'd have to spend on someone in this country?

Isn't Leon Bailey just a slightly better Demerai Grey?

Yes and No. But to a significantly large extent that what you're saying is a good point - yes. Upgrade though.

He does look like the kind of player suited to the PL, so lets wait and see.

The timing sort of feels right all round, but its the wrong buying club, in my opinion.

I really don't want to say much more as there are posters who cloy around the Maddison topics and send me abuse regularly via DMs.

Please, please just don't bother. I'm not scared by your threats!

He’s very up and down. But aren’t most wingers? The concerning thing is he went from being linked to teams like United for silly money, to being offered to PL clubs for a much reduced fee.

I think with Bailey you’re either going to revitalise him and get a monster, or you’re going to get a better Gray, who on his day is brilliant, off it pants. Having said that he is 23, Bailey at Villa wouldn’t go anywhere on my opinion, Bailey at Leicester would probably do well.

So I take it you have met him in person?

I met him in a toilet, he was washing his hands. Said hello, seems a nice fella.

Crikey you get abuse and threats, this is insane. There are some weirdos on here.

Did not the Lord of the Wing @Ric Flair  state he was doggo last year?

Hahaha I was a big fan, I was argued with on here because I criticised Leverkusen for moving him to the left after him earning his move as a right winger. Low and behold he seems to have finally played more on the right at Leverkusen last season and has his best season yet out there.
