Filming the game rather than just watching it is wretched enough, but to ignore the action altogether? Nuts.

I imagine they didn't know he would do that before it happened. The posting it to social media is the questionable part.

.. some people see different things in the same situation!!!

  A chance to view a well respected man in a situation that would evoke emotion or reaction is something that a person who studies the world around them would choose to record.

  Photographers do not just view the person blowing out the birthday candles, he's looking at the grandfather holding the baby with his knarled walking stick resting on the sofa beside him.

  Not going to judge the reason for his choice of subject matter, but to some people it will be an insight into what was actually, a public affair.

If you bring your phone/camera to a game to purposely record stuff then you obviously give a shit about watching the game anyway so why the surprise when they film random stuff?
