In January, I hope we make very few signings.

We have strength in depth in most positions.  Our squad is full and we need to work out who is to move on if we are to continue to strengthen the squad. We may  sell one or two excellent players as we could struggle to keep all the players happy.   If all our full-backs were fit, I would imagine at least one would feel a little disgruntled at lack of game time.

If things are going well, hopefully there will be no need to buy in January.  If we are doing well with a settled squad with few injuries, this would be ideal.

...the only reason we would be dabbling in the January window would be if Vestergaard and Evans along with another CB are not likely to play for a few more months!!!

We rarely trade in the January market and would be desperate or foolish to buy in that period.

I could see us possibly pick up someone with 6 months left on their contract; a RW or DM, for example. But that would depend on outgoings.

...this has been a strange window and I am not so sure what the thought processes are, in respect of players coming and going in the January window!!!

I do not envisage any out goings in January nor anyone coming in to sure up the squad. The cost in January is far too high, and clubs would rightly be looking at charging a premium, in order to release players to us, as they themselves would have to find cover for the player being released.

With the lack of real movements which has taken place in the recently concluded "window" there might be a plethora of comings and goings, although I really do not see this  happening.

Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane.

...Sane seems to be drifting in his career!!!

Lost his place at Man.City and now available to move again. Rumours of confrontations with the Man.City coaching staff.  He would bit be a project that Rodgers would not be looking to take on.

   As for Mahrez, no!!

Maybe not in January, but come the summer, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rodgers go after a left wing back, like we had the link with Gosens.

Rodgers likes an option of 352, he used it last season, and at Liverpool too.

..........................Schmeichel

..........Fofana.........Evans.......Justin

Ricardo...............................................LWB

............Tielemans...Ndidi...Soumare

....................Iheanacho....Daka

Ward/Iversen

Soyuncu/Vestegaard/Amartey

Castagne/Bertrand/Thomas

Choudhury/Mendy/KDH/Maddison

Barnes/Perez/Albrighton/Lookman

Vardy

I think in Jan/Next summer, we need to look at improving and replacing Choudhury/Mendy and Perez/Albrighton, and a left wing back.

....it just goes to show how strong our depth will be relative to the Europa League!!!

Very early days yet but Luka Sucic at RB Salzburg looks like he's going to be a player. He's that sort of  attacking midfielder that can play anywhere that Rodgers seemed to love as a player at Liverpool and Celtic and could develop in to a winger or be an 8 or 10.

Very doubtful we'll sign anyone. I'd thought it was a bit of a myth that we didn't spend in January, but looking back on Transfermarkt, the last time we paid a fee in January to sign someone permanently...was Wilf. In 2017.

How time flies eh?

The only reason we would go into the market then is a) if we have no center backs at all or b) someone unmissable and attainable becomes available for loan (see: Tielemans).

If the latter was Sané then, well, I think we all will need our collective jaws collected from the floor. But hey, no harm in dreaming eh?

Some people are unbelievable. Leroy Sane is streets ahead of any wide attacking player we have. His attitude is something else, his ability is unquestioned. He hasn't fitted in at Bayern doesn't mean he's not a very good player. So you wouldnt take Mahrez back and play him instead of Albrighton or Perez?? Ok mate suddenly I don't value your opinion at all.

...I did not question Sane's ability, just his attitude and where he appears to be heading in his career!!!

All very well having the skillset but no one is going to touch you with the baggage that you bring.

Irrespective of Mahrez's quality, I have no love for the player, due to his antics and claims that we took away two years out of his career. Contracts works both ways and it protects himself as well as the club.

all the people writing Vardy off again

Who is writing Vardy off?

Suggesting he needs to be rotated more isn't 'writing him off'.....

I guess you've missed our last 2 seasons then, when Vardy's form has dipped because of being overplayed, and the likes of Ndidi has been injury prone from over playing?

Maddison still playing when unfit/injured/not bothered/out of form?

Barnes injured from overplaying.....No doubt Justin's lack of rest was a factor too.....Evans being rushed back for every game possible?

An injury like Fofana's, in a pre-season game, is bad luck.

But it's not a coincidence that the likes of Barnes/Justin/Ndidi/Evans who were never getting rested, were more prone to injury.

Tielemans somehow getting through last season without issue is an exception to the rule, not the rule itself.

In Europe at home, and against sides like Norwich/Palace/Watford/Newcastle/Southampton etc, we have to be looking at times when we can rest Ndidi/Vardy/Barnes for the likes of Soumare/Daka/Lookman or do it by changing the system.

Carvalho has looked decent for Fulham, but we're desperate for more physicality in this side.

Justin's physicality is an underrated loss.

Probably why we were looking at Spence from Boro too.

Joakim Maehle looks like he was born for PL football to me.

Get Fofana/Soumare to have a word with Kamara too.

Barcelona are a disgrace, they've failed to register Alex Collado and have terminated his contract.

We need this kid,get him signed and in for January.

Ismaïla Sarr  & another CB

Sarr is just the type of right flank player we need, always looks forward, and Evans appears broken. Vestegaard for a big lad is a bit of a powder puff and Cags well what can i say.

Think Sane sadly, has become a bit of a problem child so a no from me. In January, won't Marhez be about 40?

No, but when he is, he will still have more skill than than all our current players:P
