Hopefully Ashley gets desperate for public opinion again and has one of those moments where he over compensates and makes a stupid purchase, buying Hamza for 40m just to be petty.

Meanwhile Neres has got his shit together but he's got the hump with Ajax for not having faith in him so he's still for sale but now even cheaper and we pick him up for about 12.

How about we buy some players that can actually walk into our team and start matches that would be something different

I'd settle for a CB who's currently able to walk, full stop...

Still think we'll have issues at CB that will need addressing. Evans is getting old now could quite easily be troubled with niggly injuries. Jury is still out on Vestergaard IMO if he's going to bring the stability we crave. Soyuncu looks a liability.

Our only glimmer of hope seems to be:

No dude, Ilan Kebbal from Reims.  Really impressed so far this season. Boy can he dribble, but his passing has really impressed.  One to watch...

I like your style, good pick.

He was a player I did a bit of research on a while back, glad to see he's started the season well.

Very surprised that Romain Faivre stayed at Brest in the end, the supposed financial ruin that the French teams are facing hasn't been anywhere near as bad as what many were predicting.

Surely Messi joining has lead to a raft of late TV deals?

Hate to be a party pooped here but very unlikely we have any money left at all. Probably banked on hamza going for a year too.

Last player we signed in jan was ndidi, the rest have all been loans so I'd imagine this is our squad for the rest of the season.

Given our injury situation, if everyone was fit, we'd have to have a few outgoings to sign anyone in any event  ... hey, maybe one of our U23 wingers will earn a spot after impressing in EL or the League Cup! We can hope!

Only way I see anything happen in Jan of significance is if one of Ricardo, Tielemans or Soyuncu make it clear they aren't interested in signing a new contract. We might then see if there's a team desperate enough to pay a bigger fee than we could attract in the summer.

- A fully fit squad (barring Fofana, obvs).

- Choudhury to Newcastle (Loan with view of Permanent).

- Brennan Johnson £8-10m from Forest, with Benkovic going other way, as part of the deal.

- Youri to sign new contract extension.
