Brighton play football and will engage with us. We have better players and better team so we will probably win, which we normally do against them in the last few years. Vardy back in.

As I'm always being accused of being negative on here, I'm not going to give an opinion on how this game will finish.

Anyone confident we'll win?

Play like we did against Man City and at times today and we should.

Napoli are stoner in midfield than Brighton. We should have the winning of the midfield battle in this game, and hopefully Barnes (and Perez if he plays) will have gained a lot of confidence from scoring today and so we'll look more dangerous out wide.

If fit, I'd like to see Ricardo back in the starting 11.

Edit: Perez won't play. Just remembered he's still suspended.

Could go either way. Depends on how the defence feels like playing, with Evans injured and Soy struggling the options across the back 4 arent ideal. Not sure Castagne and Bertrand could do another 90 mins. Amartey started well so should get another shot.

Kasper

Ricardo Amartey Vestergaard Thomas

Ndidi

Tielemans Soumare

Nacho Vardy Barnes

No Maddison or Perez?

I'd love to see that, but won't happen!

Relegation 6 pointer

Imagine the scenes on here if the result was a defeat, though..

Should have more than enough to deal with them.

Important game. Really need to be winning the next two.

100% agree. If we lose the next two our season is effectively over.

I think it depends who partners Vestaegard. Soyunchu and Amarty don't fill me with much confidence right now and I can't imagine Benkovic is match fit.

We'll have too much in attack but Perriera and Vestaegard, potentially Castange are looking like defenders at the moment while the others aren't so much.

Potentially a good shout to give Lookman his first start.

I'm not convinced the defence is our issue at all!

We've had nearly 20 shots against us a game because we can't keep the ball for any period of time at all.

That's Napoli, Man City, Wolves and West Ham, that once they got the ball, pretty much got to our box every single time before they lost possession.

We have no defensive structure in front of the defence.

....Barnes will rotate with Lookman and Albrighton will come in for Perez!!!

I believe Barnes got a full 90 minutes tonight so he will start on Sunday and be replaced by Lookman on 70 minutes.

...I  have said all along we need to beef up the middle of the pitch!!!

Playing with three in the centre will afford better protection for the back line.

Youri has been lucky so far that his misplaced passes have not always led to a goal and as soon as we lose the ball, we are wide open to score against.

Watching the game back on TV.....

I think it's pretty obvious that Rodger's selection for the first 45 minutes, cost us massively, fitness wise....And then his decision to bring on Maddison was just bizarre.

Not only did Napoli dominate possession first half, but they did so progressively, meaning we actually had to use a lot of energy up to keep them out.

Bertrand/Vestegaard got very little support from Barnes on the left side, and Soumare/Ndidi were completely overwhelmed by the midfield 3 of Anguissa/Ruiz/Zielinski.

After half time, we actually got into dangerous areas more often, and Bertrand/castagne actually got forward for the first time in the game, and gave us an outlet from the full backs.

Soumare/Bertrand especially linked up very very well with Barnes, and caused all kinds of problems. Including creating both the goal, the disallowed goal and Barnes's blocked shot.

The problem was, Vestegaard/Bertrand/Soumare were so knackered from being a man down on that side plus a lack of game time, that they really needed to be taken off.

Maddison was a terrible terrible choice though, as he's not physical enough to get around the pitch! KDH would have offered far more, as he's a lot more mobile, and even Choudhury for me, although I don't rate him, been a far far better choice.

Vestegaard/Bertrand/Soumare/Daka/Iheanacho looked knackered.....

And Rodgers's inability to rotate them in the league, and get them minutes, cost us massively tonight.

Rodgers got his selection wrong.

He then, after adjusting it more correctly at half-time, made last substitutions which were bad for us.

Combined with the fact we had tiring players, because he hasn't been rotating enough.

...it seems a lot of our players are looking fatigued at the moment and I wonder if there is a change in our approach to the season in respect of the work we do in training!!!

It will  be interesting how the season plays out as the fitness should not  be an issue as we go through the season.

I still feel there is something missing with this team and we will have to wait for JJ returning,  and perhaps acquiring Tarkowski in January, could make that difference for a special season.

We've got a very good record against these, but we don't look quite on it. I can see a narrow loss.

These are decent. We need a commanding performance because there’s a lot of serious questions to be asked about a few of our top quality players right now.
