Wymsey Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 (edited) Not associated with Radio Leicester anymore (as queried in the Millwall match thread)? Edit: Thanks for putting this in a new topic, moderators; there was a 'Ian Stringer' article in the Search Results function, but it was closed for further posts. Edited 22 September 2021 by Wymsey

Some liked his commentary style, whilst others didn't who listened to him (am guessing the majority for the latter). He's been doing the job, of course, for many years and has experienced the high and lows of the club (down to League One, Vichai's tragedy, the 2015/2016 PL triumph) as a genuine loyal fan. urban.spaceman Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Wonder if the people who protested Alan Young's sacking outside the BBC will be planning something.
Popular Post Unabomber Posted 22 September 2021 Popular Post Posted 22 September 2021 He’s going to be a reporter at Bristol City. Can’t wait for Nigel’s “hello Ian” 8

MattFox Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Hasn’t tweeted for a week ( which is very unlike him) and doesn’t have Radio Leicester in his bio
Popular Post FoxyPalace.com Posted 22 September 2021 Popular Post Posted 22 September 2021 Stringer I thought was OK never understood why people disliked him so much. 36
Popular Post Swalshed Posted 22 September 2021 Popular Post Posted 22 September 2021 Could never question his passion and support for The City. Great reactions to Leicester goals scored 15
FoxyPalace.com Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 He must be on here undercover, come on Stringer send us a sign 😂🙈

I think people obsess about him way too much. They're almost vindicated about it when something happens to him. It's not that bizarre. You've made more of a big deal about it
LCFC hub Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 (edited) Could have been sacked. Could be on holiday or could be off work ill. Possibly mental health (no joke, genuinely could be). Did he have radio Leicester in his twitter bio previously? Lots may not like him, but there's also worse out there too. Owynn is young, inexperienced and not as good at Ian. Whether you like him or not Stringer is a Leicester fan and it was better than a non Leicester fan commentating on the best ever period of our club. He's one of our own Edited 22 September 2021 by LCFC hub Typo 4

Leicesterpool Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 I think he's had a good run on radio Leicester over ten years, longer than some. To be fair his antics with Matt Piper used to get on my nerves, just tad unprofessional times. Otherwise he did okay. Time for a change. 1

As someone who listens occasionally when i can't get to a TV and has done since he's been doing it for nearly 15 years it's of interest yes.... It sounds like it was only a few games ago so I'm sure a lot of people who tune in occasionally are not aware he's left. Why does that bother you? 6
foxsake Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Owen will get better, he just needs a bit more experience leading the commentary. He has the passion for the club which Stringer also has, which I have always liked. I love the podcast, it helps me to stay in touch with the club. Stringers repartee with Birchie is always good value, love Matt Piper, the fan forum etc. For local commentary and content they do an exceptional job. It's highly unusual and I hope Ian is ok and is not in trouble of any kind. It must be very personal if Owen et al are playing the Mandela effect game and acting like he doesn't even exist. It's weird. 3
