Tielemans63 Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Turns out some of the things he said in his audition tape for The Apprentice weren't true.
RoboFox Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 I’ve said it before, but he gets too much shit on here. I’ve found myself disappointed that he hasn’t being doing the RL podcasts recently TBH. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with regards to his understudy. It’s clear who he’s been trained by. The way he calls games and intonates is a bit too similar, but also a bit more… screechy. Obviously I have no idea about the reason, but I hope all is well. 2

You can listen pre-match, post-match and previews, Monday night forum etc via the BBC Sounds app. The podcasts are from those shows. The app restricts the matchday commentaries once the game starts. I hope he’s alright. As an aside, living outside Leicestershire, the podcasts really help me keep in touch. You cant listen to match commentaries on line - rights issues 1

Stringer is way better than some of the crap before him. There are plenty of cringe moments but overall decent. The thing you say about Owen really irritates me. It’s ok learning from people but flat out copying him just seems grim 1

Samilktray Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Talking of podcasts it’s a shame we don’t have a proper podcast ran by fans (to my knowledge, i could be wrong)

Fair play to them for trying but I’ve not found one I enjoy that’s out there. 1
hejammy Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 As others have said. I love his passion, a Leicester fan like all of us. Gets excited when we do well, feels down when we don't. He may not be eloquent but he loves LCFC and for that I wish he gets back soon. 1
iancognito Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Stringer as a reporter/general journo isn't too bad, he's pretty well informed and enthusiastic but he's a terrible commentator IMO. But whether I or anyone else dislikes him or not, if he's having mental health - or any heath issues - he should have our support. 4 1

Better to address the problem full on in order to curtail mounting speculation that could run and run and in the end the facts will come out and the previous time between these moments will be a daily hell for the person involved.

Wasn’t on the pitch against Man City or Napoli I think he mentioned not doing it, or not doing it so much, on the radio recently. When they were in the pub. Tbh, I was only half listening at the time.

shailen Posted 23 September 2021 Posted 23 September 2021 Haven't listened in to the radio for a few years, especially since we've been back in the PL, but Stringer had great energy and made the radio experience exciting as it could be. If he has any personal issues, I do wish him a speedy recovery! 2
Raj Posted 23 September 2021 Posted 23 September 2021 Arent there enough threads about Stringer already on foxestalk. For someone people dont seem to like, he gets alot of coverage. Hes a leicester city supporting radio presenter, hes not here to change humanity ffs! 1

I hope all is well and wish him all the best for the future. Thank you. Despite what I said, that's kind of you to say. I don't think I'm superior to anyone, at all. In fact quite the opposite. There was absolutely no ridicule here . You're way off the mark. Can't even remember the Vestergaard transfer thread. What did I say?
messerschmitt Posted 23 September 2021 Posted 23 September 2021 Ian stringer isn't a real person, he's just a character created by a comedian, playing a parody of a local sports reporter.
