Well, I've never seen a Leicester women's game before, but this is very familiar. They're proper Leicester.

Problem with the womens game is there's to much of a gulf in class between 5 or 6 teams and the rest....something needs to be done if they want to extend its appeal

Doesn't help that there's a lot less teams and far fewer games being played. The bottom half don't get a chance to win too many, the top half don't get tested enough apart from against each other.

Precisely its not competitive enough....they should probably divide the WSL...play each other 4 times if they have to

Cannot fault the effort there. Defended okay although plenty was last ditch. Main issue for me was inability to keep the ball and relieve any pressure. Granted Chelsea are champions. All a learning curve for the whole club.

morgan spends the whole time screaming praise and encouragement and just seems happy to be here.

Only caught the last 20 minutes or so but there was clear difference in quality unsurprisingly. Allowing the likes of Chelsea to have 5 subs as well is ridiculous.

Was never going to be easy to make the step up.

First time I’ve watched the women’s team. I got into it as it’s Leicester and I think it’s great that we’re incorporating the women’s side into the club so I’d like to get behind them when I can. If I’m honest though the standard was poorer than I’d expected. Ultimately though it’s not the likes of Chelsea that Leicester need to beat if they want to stay in the WSL.

Looking at the fixtures there's a break now and then in the league they play Man City, Brighton, Everton and Arsenal.....probably lose those matches as well....play Birmingham after that....followed by Reading....ruthless division!!

It's going to be a tough season. I really hoped they would weather the inevitable storm for a hard earned point. Not to be sadly and I was genuinely gutted when Chelsea scored. It'll come, there are point there in the league for them.

A point would have been an incredible result. But they just have to win their mini-league with Birmingham and Reading. It's all about staying up this season, and then they have a platform to improve in future seasons.

Reading 3-0 up v Villa at HT.  Even before that I would have said they were in a false position based on their squad.

It's Leicester v Birmingham for relegation and Birmingham have more experience at this level.  It might well come down to the chequebook being opened in the next window - Birmingham seem to have little appetite to invest in the women's game, so how much appetite do City have?  And will there be anyone available who could make much difference?  Creativity is the main issue, but I think that's true of the women's game in general.

They'd probably have taken that result before the game. Sounds negative but just realistic. One step at a time.

Not a good weekend of results for us; Reading winning and Birmingham getting a draw puts us bottom, no points. Makes big games of the fixtures against our relegation rivals.

Watched a bit before F1 race started, we were clearly outclassed in team technical ability, but tactics I dont think were bad with fast counter attacking, hopefully the ladies can overcome the start and stay up.

Anyone who watched us last season and had also seen the top clubs, both WSL and foreign, will have realised the step up it was going to be for us.

I was reassured (by someone here) that there was a difference in class within the WSL itself, and we could well do what other 'lesser' teams do; I.e.  get outclassed by the top clubs but pick up results/points elsewhere. Plenty of games yet to pick up confidence and points.

They played last season on the front foot with wingers getting crosses in and taking the game to teams. Need players like Devlin & Cain to stay fit. Similar to our Great Escape season, it might take them a while to realise attack is the best form of defence. Outside the top 6, they're all beatable IMO. But we won't beat them if we keep 9 behind the ball every game.

....our performances at the start of the season demanded a consolidated approach to games!!!

At this moment we are being over ran by everyone , even the teams earmarked to struggle this season look to be way ahead of us right now. Devlin has been on the bench for a few games now and the lack of pace all round especially in defence requires a tighter backline and a protective bank of four to support them.

Sigsworth and Flint not in tandem and we do not tend to press together and get passed around.
