Theres talk the semi final between Man City v Liverpool will be swapped from Wembley to Villa Park. Due to no trains being available to bring fans back.

If they go ahead and play it at Wembley it's such an enormous smack in the mouth to fans. Hopefully sense will prevail.

Should have been played at Villa Park anyway.

Not just because it's a semi-final but also because it's two teams from the same area of the Country. No point in sending to sides from the North West all the way to Wembley.

I can see why they wouldn't, but Old Trafford would be an even better venue.

I wonder one day we'll see the semis played abroad imagine it Man City v Liverpool in Qatar!! And Chelsea v Palace in New York. Not good for fans of course but extra cash for the fa.

FA wont move from Wembley, they dont give a feck about the fans it's all about the $$$.

Wembley contracted for the semis.

FA have no backbone(Hope I'm wrong tho)

Those semi finals in the 2000's when the new Wembley was being built were so much better.  Millennium stadium, Villa park and Old Trafford.

I really wish they'd keep Wembley stadium sacred for just finals.

They have to claw back how much Wembley cost for years yet. That's why they did the NFL deal. They won't move any games away from there.

The issue with this is so many different arguments coming into play.

I don't believe the semi-finals should be at Wembley but you'd get the maximum amount of fans for a club there as opposed to any other ground plus lesser teams if you like might enjoy going there. Then there's the issue of hosting semi-finals on a bank holiday weekend which is usually a boom time for rail engineering works which makes it tougher (but not impossible as is being made out, I often have to get coaches instead of trains and still make it to matches). Two Northern clubs in London doesn't make sense but you can't change venues at such short notice very easily.

I think, on this topic, fans just have to accept it and either get there or not. It's a pain but not insurmountable.

Of course it was traditional up till the new Wembley to have the semi finals elsewhere - we had at least 4/5 visits to Villa Park but now had 2 semis finals at Wembley.

Suppose it was local for us though!

As said above money talks and contracts have to be adhere to.

They've probably already sold the executive boxes and club Wembley tickets.

FA Cup semi final move just brought up in PMQ in Parliament by a North West MP.

Boris hardly even acknowledged it.

And he shouldn't, either.

It's not a Government issue.

Probably doesn’t even know who the teams are !

TbF has rather more important issues to worry about .

As much as I think match going fans are treated abysmally in this country, on this topic the issue appears to be the location of the match only drawn four weeks before it occurs. The travel situation isn't perfect but they are able to attend, just not as conveniently as it usually would be. I don't think you can just decide venues after the draw has been made.

Now, if they'd built the national stadium in the middle of the country.....

Yes agree on those points.

Just unfortunate it's 2 big northern teams playing each other.
