An update on the stadium development outlined the need for re engagement with architects and planners to establish value in budget. SW confirmed that the development would not start in 2025 or 2026.

The implementation of safe standing would continue to be considered in parallel with the stadium development, with consultations being re engaged this season.

I'm sceptical whether expansion makes economic sense. Ticket sales are a small of the clubs income now. A 25% increase in capacity and therefore a 25% increase in ticket revenue isn't going to be a game changer even if we sell out every week. A lot of the extra income would have service the debt anyway.

The way things are going, I can see every game televised in this country in a few years, which is bound to affect the gate. We could end up with a white elephant.

It will be more then that as corporate capacity will be a factor and no doubt its % of capacity will go up more proportionally, and a bigger active fan base means more merchandise sales etc.

Every game is already televised, and we wont be in the EPL every season with its huge TV money but still be subject to PSR.

Remember when we couldnt given Enzo his January signing.  That showed every little helps.

I know America is America, and England is England - but in reality, a large stadium can really bring in the cash if done correctly. U.S. stadiums basically are money factories for hours before and after a game. Of course, I know for different reasons, stadiums here don't want people hanging around that long, but the King Power isn't helped by horrible food and the fact that buying shirts/other products isn't set for impulse buying.

The actual figures for the season ticket waiting list would be interesting to see, Forest and Leeds have their numbers out there. It's entirely possible we will be overtaken by those two in terms of stadium expansion.

We don't have a season ticket waiting list. It's basically Fox Members with enough points to enter a ballot if they choose.

"His appointment at Leicester is his first in football in more than a year and the role will be centred around the “further development and expansion” of the King Power Stadium, signalling the club’s intent to push ahead with their expansion plans.

The Foxes first outlined their ambition to expand the stadium in October 2021 when they applied for planning permission to increase its capacity by 8,000 seats. These plans were approved by the local council in December 2023, which the club said would prove to be “transformational for the city and the region.”

Tentatively pleased with that, he would have facilitated some decent stuff at Utd including their safe standing and singing sections, cheaper tickets for youth, removal of pre match shitty music. Hopefully he isn't immediately indoctrinated here.
