if everyone is a ST paying £450 a season each year gross it'll be £2,250,00.

Season tickets dont' generate a lot of cash.

You don't build for the single year though.

It'll be lifetime earnings that they'll want to safeguard. Decades of season tickets, amenities - merch & food and so on.

They could have really safeguarded this by investing in the league position when we were in a position of strength but sadly they didn't. I guess the money saved on Brendan's contract must have been worth it.

I'm probably dreaming but if club made accessing tickets on the day easier, you may get more people willing to create a better atmosphere

especially overseas fans - ticket plus international membership is pushing or more than 100 quid - just not affordable for one-off visits.

Agreed - but its like the finances said during the covid year - most clubs made more cash from increased TV deals with no fans  in the ground.

If it isn't that, then what's the hold up?

Tenders to start with. Then the construction companies giving us a start date that could be months off. They will need to find out when specialist parts can be made. So I guess no reason to release anything until they have a definite start date.

All the tickets in the upper tier will be hospitality. It’s the only way clubs make money.

No they wont, it will allow another level of boxes though and some hospitality.

Yes, I wondered about that. They wouldn't want all the premium corporate seats to be right up in the clouds so far away from the pitch, surely?

Can’t see anything happening for a few years. Got to get into the premiership them stay there. So not for 3-4 years

A bit like last time, when we got in and stayed there for 9 years? They need to commit if they can afford it. There’s never a ‘good time’. The timespan of building means no matter what league we are in, we might not be there on completion.

Think about it. With the hotel, the arena and the new club store, the potential for hospitality is endless. Sell a ticket for £20 or sell one for £200.

No one can guarantee us being in the PL for 3/4 years and even if we were it does not guarantee us being there for 5 year.

No I get your point for sure. I don't doubt there will be some more entry level packages in the new seats too (e.g. food and drinks +ticket, Villa have just released some sort of street food hall+ticket package) I just don't think it'll be all of it to begin with.

Looking at the designs I think the extension will have a similar vibe to spurs with a long open hall for food and drinks for that stand.

I'm no expert but i would suspect that, given the go ahead has been something of a formality for some time, a lot of this sort of stuff has probably been under way for along time....

I dont think any club has a whole tier of a stand as hospitality - yes there will be boxes in the east stand and why not, but to suggest the whole tier will be hospitality is nuts. There isn't enough money floating about in Leicestershire for that.

i worked at someone’s house who was very involved with the club at the top level a few years back

he had all the plans and what the clubs intentions where

he said that the extension will be all corporate and that they would be able to open the whole floor to allow for large events and weddings

how true this is i’m not sure

Any original tender/pricing would have to be re done. As others have said building materials are going down. Also until it is passed no contracts would be signed. So much has changed since the plans were submitted.

It must be millions in the differences.

That can never be guaranteed though. No club builds based on if they stay up, especially not if the payments are structured properly. They haven't just spent 4m over two years on planning to delay it for 3 years.
