we had what, 25-28000 regularly in league one when we were a lot shitter so i think we're all good.

No we didn’t.

We averaged about 20,000, which would be 50% full in the newly expanded stadium. But, as stated, hopefully recent history and growth puts us in different place

Hopefully this makes sense. Just look where the stair segregation is currently and the newly proposed look.

Below shows the new away end. I'd like to know how many seats it gives back to us as home fans but then it doesn't because its moved further round. Our away end currently is 3,305 or something similar currently. I believe its the biggest end in the PL and its near the top Championship wise. Hopefully we can reduce the allocation to 3k.

Old Trafford allocation is 3,???, Emirates and Stamford Bridge similar.

New away end from photos on these two posts. My take anyway..

Not sure about reducing the away allocation. If your lines are correct then doesn't it double it? That would be a mistake having away fans that close to the back of the goal.

‘Brendan ****ed the plan by getting us relegated so we’re not starting this until we’re back in the prem’

To be fair, there's a pretty decent chance that will be next year and they aren't likely to start anything until the off season, so...yeah, nice one brendan

We'll know the max tickets available for any concerts held at the stadium after expansion

48,950 participants which shall include the audience....

Well, duh, obviously - unless UB40 are playing!

It's good news on the planning side, obviously (although it's only outline planning permission for the additional buildings).

But the reference to "market dynamics", as well as saying the Eon site could also be factored in, is a pretty clear signal this isn't happening any time soon.

Pure supposition, but I read market dynamics as either, confidence in a prolonged stint in the PL and/or raising finance on the markets via a bond issue

Fwiw, I think the business case for an arena is weak. Could well be a white elephant.

The arena music circuit bypasses Leicester for that filth up the road....  we should've offered a significant stadium level venue, like Cardiff does. They'd be better having proposed a roof on the stadium than waste money on an arena.

Derby's cycle track, Bolton, Cov's ice rink are all arenas virtually unused.

Potentially. I guess it depends on their ambitions and ability to become a place for the type of entertainment that can pull 10,000 people regularly. How aggressive they are in enticing acts/people/sport. I think we're well overdue an arena personally but I can see that it's coming into a very crowded market, especially regionally. Time will tell, but maybe the overall set up when everything is done might help?

All being said however, I will never not salivate at the thought of us playing under a roof. I know we've had big old debates about the atmosphere recently but encasing it would be brilliant. Sad it'll never, ever happen.

I’m pretty sure the Nottingham Ice Stadium loses money despite the amount of acts they have on.

The whole stand expansion probably depends on the viability of making money on the development and that seems unlikely.

with what was said by the club it seems unlikely this will ever get off the ground.

Tend to agree. The club don't want a loan on this, they want to sell this as a investment. The surrounding development is, in a likelihood, fluff til some huge Chinese investment fund falls for it. Which I think is highly unlikely.

A mortgage to find this effectively destroys the value of the club in one swoop. In fact, last year KP 'wiped' debts so as to window dress the club's value. The only loans KP like are either payday loans on guaranteed cash (for cashflow purposes, coz I assume we haven't got any cash) or loans from KP to LCFC

whats the chances of getting an anchor tenant in like the Leicester Riders?  starts to build a real sporting hub for the city then with Tigers, Cricket and then football and basketball all linked together in the area..... .

Riders have the Morningside I don't see them moving

To be fair the Morningside Arena only holds 2,400 so could it be a possibility that the Riders could play the bigger games at the new arena?

that was my take on it.... In fairness, i don't know if they regularly fill that arena or not... or even if they would want to move... but it would make some sort of sense to me...... albeit... parking provision is clearly poor compared to the city centre.

Loses mainly due to COVID impact. made a small profit in 2022, the next accounts are released on 31 December 2023.

King Power is a serious business organisation. They haven't developed this plan on a whim; they would have done a lot of feasibility work.

They have spent money on it already, buying land around the stadium, It will happen

The arena the club won't to build is one thats not too much bigger than that is it? Pretty sure its going to be half the size of Nottinghams.

6,000-capacity, according to the press release.

Ah just found that.

I think it will need an anchor tenant, would love an Ice Hockey team but starting that a fresh would be a long road.

Pleased they are not going to a size to compete against Notts arena as it would just get bypassed. Forget the hotel for a second, it's going to need a lot more restaurants, bars and pubs around that arena area to make it really work I think.

At least this time round the planners have realised that the associated development like the arena and hotel etc are fundamental to the ground expansion. Last time the club wanted to expand the stadium the plans to include retail and a casino were blocked so the whole thing was shelved, otherwise we would have had a 40000 seater stadium years ago.

the main revenue increases will not come from ticket sales alone but all the add-ons that the associated development brings. A 200 room hotel for eg will potentially bring in around £10m a year.

whether this will be lcfc commercial revenue, or king power revenue remains to be seen, but I am assuming the former as the development appears to be on behalf of lcfc not in the name of KP. (Funding/loan arrangements notwithstanding)
