WYS was awesome last night, as others have said hope the club notice and get it on at home games. Enjoyed the singalongs to Sweet Caroline and Don't Look Back in Anger too lol.

Away end last night was bloody brilliant. Understand it may not have sounded the best on TV due to distance, microphone placings etc, but everyone in there gave it their absolute all. Was a pleasure to be a part of.

This.

I think it goes to show how acoustics play a part. You could see the PSV fans behind the goal going for it but didn’t hear them unless the whole ground was singing.

I moan a lot about our fans, but the away end was superb last night from start to finish.

To be honest they didn’t come across great on TV either. Expected a lot more from their fans

Exactly, acoustics plays a huge part. I just hope the players could hear us - reckon they could given their performances and reaction at full time.

I hope Sweet Caroline doesn’t become a thing. 😂

Awful song.

Makes me cringe when watching boxing and the crowd do that "so good, so good" bit. Horrific.

Having it played at boxing events 10 years ago was original and really built the atmosphere up pre main card.

Now it's every-fvckinh-where and so overplayed that it even became rhe sound track to the Lib Dem party conference last year.

I thought it was pretty good today - especially considering how dull the game was. The European songs have fleshed out the song book quite a bit. Their vocal support was abysmal

In your opinion. The fact that everyone joins in with it proves that it’s a popular song.

Surely not? The media say, and their fans say, they are the most passionate, noisy crowd in the world ever. Whether that's true or not, it seems to be the excepted view.

Sorry - thank you for correcting me but I’ve heard a mouse fart louder - over rated at best

Thought it wasn’t bad too and we’ve now got quite a decent song book. Quite different from the Toon - who were up in there today was in our stakes of lively every except in their seat awards

was in SJP in the home end today with a geordie mate. their atmosphere was terrible bar the pre-match build up which we could take some learning from. get WYS on and a re-recorded Club Foot and see what difference it would make. heard our end with ‘on our way’ and ‘vichai had a dream’ a few times. good effort from ours but can’t do anything against a 90+5 winner

I like Newcastle, enjoy them doing well and defend them a lot on here.

But they were completely silent today bar the pre match intro (which is great to be fair) their goals and a couple of corners.

Our end was pretty good today for the reasons mentioned already. Any Newcastle fans saying they couldnt hear us is very odd. Maybe I just couldnt hear them as I could only hear us but I doubt it.

I’ve seen a lot of tweets from Newcastle fans saying that ‘we saw the atmosphere at the end’. Bit funny seen as they sung to us that we only sing when we are winning after their equaliser

Posted

Their home support is worse than ours and ours is terrible.

Even our plastic place has erupted for a last minute winner before.

I can't comment on the atmosphere at the ground but the only set of fans i could hear on sky was ours and that was pretty much the same throughout :dunno:

Our home atmosphere was shít last week.

Newcastle's shít this week.

Guess what, neither of us has a fvcking thing to play for in the league anymore.

There's a reason friendlies tend to be dead, and we're playing glorified friendlies all the way until mid-May outside the Conference League.

If it's a game that means something and the fans aren't up for it then it's a different story. Newcastle fans are definitely overrated though. Sunderland too! The whole 'northern fans care more' belief is a bit weird.

In a perfect world, all fans are up for any game because passion for the club supersedes the meaning of any one game and being at the stadium is better than being at work, but 99% of fans seem to need a bit of stimulus to get them going.

I didn't say it wasn't popular. I said it was awful. The two can coexist. You only have to look at Mr Blobby getting to Xmas number one for proof lol.
