That's confirmed pre-game, we don't know of any that may have tested positive before leaving hotels/training ground

Which just makes their decision making even more irresponsible, allowing a COVID hit squad travel to a game in the first place, to mix in hotels and with the general public. That's before you even consider allowing fans to travel around the country too

I've made a similar post in the Prem thread, the league is disregarding your normal person again. Travelling fans, workers in the ground or at the hotels have all been ****ed around for an event that likely was down to be called off  an hour or so ago.

With Burnley v Watford off I can't see this being on.

Both clubs want it off, too. It's not like that Blackburn v Middlesbrough situation years ago.

Do the right thing and let the teams get ready for Sunday.

it will be on I think they have confirmed it

Leicester's Premier League game with Tottenham will go ahead, despite both clubs asking for it to be postponed.

The Foxes are without nine players for Thursday's home game because of Covid-related issues and injuries.

Tottenham wanted to use the date to play their Europa Conference League game with Rennes, called off last week after a Covid outbreak.

"Unfortunately we weren't granted dispensation, which is disappointing," said Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers.

"As a team and a club, we have always wanted to support all the measures, but when we need a little support with the extreme situation we find ourselves in, we weren't able to get it.

I think the key point is « ongoing » Covid outbreak. Whereas ours and Spurs seems to have been contained, happened last week. So unless there’s fresh outbreaks then I don’t think it’ll be off

It'll be on due to the league being damn awkward and putting their foot down for Spurs wanting to play Rennes

im still struggling to get my head around the meaning of vaccine, because there seems to be a lot of people who are double jabbed catching the new variant,

Have you seen the numbers on double jabbed AZ vs Omicron? It's not very effective.

We have used an awful lot of AZ, and now we are boosting with other vaccine's. I'm 2xAZ with a Pfizer booster a week ago.

The EPLs reasoning will be something like our cases were all from last week and clubs had a week to prepare without those players. As there have been no new cases its tough shit!

This is a contradictory topic and you’ve given me a source from an outlet that I’ve never seen. This is a classic example of extracting selective information to support your claim.

New Scientist is a partisan source now? Wow...

Can`t think for the life of me why we would want the game called off, just had a thumping win, players back on form, Ndidi looked imperious at centre half so an unchanged team against a Spuds team who haven`t played for weeks and no fixture to re arrange,  it`s a no brainer, get the game played and bank the 3pts !!

Surely if we change our name to Leicester Yannited over-night, a second request made tomorrow will receive an 'of course you can postpone the game' response from the EPL Muppets Panel?

The funny thing is, you actually have a genuine point. The sheer lack of transparency into the decision making smacks of ‘favouritism’. Maybe it’s coincidental that it’s the “big” clubs that are having games called off, but you can’t help but feel that the big boy’s influence helps shape the decisions that are being made. It’s quite telling that Dean Smith & now Rodgers have come out publicly demanding more transparency. For example, why can’t the PL state how many players Man Utd had out with COVID, don’t need to name names per say but it would be very interesting to see what criteria needs to be met for a game to be postponed.

Nah it be ' If we, the EPL Management Committee, can give any one the ex ESL Clubs an advantage against a Team that was not part of the planned ESL , then the EPL will afford the advantage in the best interests of keeping the smaller clubs in their places.  Game to go ahead'.

May be Tootenham's co-request was half hearted?

Burnley vs Watford not long called off... hardly big 6.. and Us vs Spurs is still on..    favouritism for bigger clubs??

This makes no sense. If the ESL had gone ahead then the EPL would have suffered for it. Why, why, why would the EPL look to give advantage to ex-ESL clubs and help them build an even bigger case for breaking away?

Have you been on the egg nog a week too early????

How do you propose to name an unchanged team with Evans and Soyuncu out?

Unchanged from the Evans injury, didn`t know Caggs was out, good chance for Nelson to step up then.
