Hopefully keeps the boring people out the away end.

Natural selection right here.

I'll be going to all and any that I can.

What's the point of jabs and boosters if we're just going to stay home and hide anyway? I get that some people have medical conditions, that's one thing but for anyone that's a fit & healthy adult with no co-morbidity issues and/or fully jabbed, this thing has a vanishingly slim chance of harming you. It's here, it's staying around for a long time and be damned if I'm going to just wait for a day that may never come in order to carry on doing the things I like. In the words of Chris Whitty himself "we do have to learn to live with this".

Perhaps it's the timing and some very fit and healthy people are planning on spending Christmas day with family members who aren't fit and healthy but rather vulnerable?

I hope those going have a great time. I also really hope that they are also taking measures to protect their family and loved ones in a period where there is a lot of close contact and indoor socialising.

Absolutely yes. Going this and Man City on boxing day, I fear restrictions will be put in place in January

If anyone can pick up from South Notts i've got two adult tickets and as it's Christmas all i'd ask is you'd make a decent donation (in line with ticket cost) to charity and show me a conformation email or something :)

I'm hosting and have some family needing to do hospital visits, so can't risk it, mad to think when it was booked a few weeks back things seemed okay.

Feel free to DM!

Threads like this remind me how unimportant missing a few games of football is, to me anyway.

Those going, good luck and I hope you remain healthy - I chose a good time to care a lot less about football.

If anyone wants a spare for this and can collect from Leeds/Bradford before tomorrow evening then drop me a note. No cash need change hands, Christmas isn’t it (it’s not a blag ticket I promise).

Why should fans suffer for the mistakes of the premier league? They should obligate players to have the vaccine to play, just like how fans need the vaccine to watch games, well it should be the same

I had covid in september, I’ve been pricked twice and will have my third today. So I’m taking my chances. Going on the train and staying over. Can’t wait!

Definitely still going to this with my 12 year old, we travel back to Leicester thro the night and then he's coming with me to New York for Xmas on the 23rd.

These are his Xmas presents so I can't really back out, not that I would anyway.

Every protocol and safety measure will be taken throughout in order to stay safe so I can't do much more really. I'm not letting my guard down against this virus but I'm not letting it define my Xmas or my life anymore than I have to either.

Literally pi55ing myself laughing here that someone has concluded that anyone choosing to not go to the match is boring....stays sat down and offers no support to the team?!?!

How the hell has someone jumped to this conclusion?!!

Can I jump to a conclusion that those choosing to go are the single people...with no kids who think they are invincible and just want to be lary and jump all over their mates?!? (For the record....no I can't assume that because I have no solid evidence to back it up)

Fans don't need a vaccine to watch games, a negative lateral flow does the trick 😏

I literally couldn't think of anywhere I'd rather not be than Man City away on boxing day. Not because of covid, but I really don't fancy travelling upto Manchester, standing in the cold and watching us get slapped by 5 or 6 while our away end can't produce a tune.

Haha to be fair I am based in Manchester with a load of Man City mates so always go this one, will probably be back in town by half time with a pint.

This.

I’ve decided I’m going purely from reading this thread.

Clearly said a lot of those who do fit into that category will stay away. Nobody said everyone - Stop being so defensive.

Common sense a lot of the elderly, vulnerable people who don't actively contribute to any atmosphere will likely stay away.

We are driving by car, I will not be mingling in the concourse and go straight to the seat. Avoid toilets at busy times and wear a mask indoors. Also avoid pub pre-match. Taking as many precautions that will reduce the risk and still able to enjoy the match.

I know, I have the Bingo bus booked BUT this seems a sensible approach if tiring sadly.  Annoyingly same booked for Man C with the club on Boxing Day!!

If I do drive, best places to park on the road?  Been to Goodison a few times and parked around Utting Avenue and near Cherry Lane (I think).  is that a decent area?

We parked Stanley Park Avenue last time for Everton cup QF, looking to do the same tomorrow. It's off Queens Road and similar to where you describe.
