Our fans are aware that bringing in Solomon would limit the opportunities of Monga, who already looks as good as Solomon anyway.

Would be such a backwards signing irregardless of politics. You get a solid championship player on high wages for one season and you lose out on one year of seeing a once in a generation talent play for us.

Monga isn't going to play 46 games.

Fatawu can't play 46 after coming back from a ACL.

We don't want to run either into the ground, Monga is that good I don't think you need to be worried about him getting plenty of minutes.

Wouldn't he be more of an alternative option to Mav?

It is a long season and we don’t want to have to rely on monga every week and burn him out as he is only 16 it’s a lot of pressure on him even if he has done amazing so far. fatawu and mav will need a break at some point as well as injuries. Not saying Solomon is the answer but some help for those 3 will be needed

Yes he’s getting plenty of game time and almost is ideal to come on against tiring defenders as a 16 year old he’ll be making great progress even with better players who’ll start more.

Having said that Monga is a special player and is technically better than Mavididi by a mile already. He’s just not got the physical aspect of his game yet but tha will come.

I do think middle of park and striker is the main area to improve before the wing.

We already have Mavididi for rotation. Solomon coming in makes Monga our 3rd choice left wing and 2nd right wing which in my opinion is too far away from the first XI.

Think of how often Akgun played for us and that's Monga's role if we bring in a new winger, it's not enough.

There's also Solomon's high wages and injury risk to factor in, I just dont think it's the right choice.

Just not going to be the right fit I'm afraid if Hamza is staying. Recipe for disaster. Just leave it alone.

Hamza won't need to be his best mate. Resonable to assume that some players dont get on with others which is no different to other walks of life. I'm sure that he's grown up and professional enough for this not to be an issue. We really dont need all this pandering to footballers/celebrities personal beliefs most of which is deliberately misinterpreted on socials for effect. Plenty of echo chambers out there for that sort of thing that can be ignored by the rest of us.

Solomon seems like a great fit for us. Not expecting it to happen anyway which is a shame.

TBF I've looked into this guy and wouldn't want him at the club.

I guess we all have different standards to what we find acceptable in a human.

If we got rid of the likes of Wayne Brown we should have the same rules for everyone.

Agree with you and @Bilo, players should be professional enough to get on with it... but we have seen Hamza celebrate with Palestine Flags, so he is clearly vocal about it and in some respects willing to take punishment to continue to be that way. Outwardly it looks like it could be awkward, maybe internally not so much, but I just think as a club if you know one of your captains is a strong and vocal supporter of Gaza it might not be the wisest choice to go after someone who is a vocal Israeli supporter, especially at a time where we are trying hard to get the players building team spirit again.

Fair enough, it was a comment on the pure volume of rubbish we find ourselves with. Agree that signing another Kante, Mahrez, Bilal, Fatawu would be great, but the fact we are having to cut out cloth currently, suggests such names are outliers rather than a given, and we should be wary.

I get that but I think it’s ok to bring in people who are a risk and end up not working as long as we have learnt our lesson and don’t give the huge long term contracts on big money. If we bring someone in  for £5-10 million on a 3 year contract at 20-40k a week and they end up not working it’s not such a big deal

Or maybe Mavididi would be 3rd choice until we sell him?

No but if you bring in Solomon then you also have Mavididi rotating with Fatawu as well. I think Monga rotating and covering with both wings is the goldilocks spot for him, another winger ahead of him and he starts struggling for starts and opportunities off the bench most weeks.

Maybe he get 800-900 minutes playing that way but I think 1500 is what we should be aiming for
