There are so many players out there, especially across the European leagues that are cheap, and easily enhance the quality of our squad in nearly every position. He is a waste just like Rudkin and Aiyawatt. Identifies players you would expect, it's not his job to sign them and it's not his job to find the money to pay for them. 2

We are currently in a position where we can't really judge Glover due to the fact for all we know he could be presenting multiple players to rudkin and co all the time and them just being turned down due to budget restraints/ rudkin has never heard of them / incompetence or he could be as incompetent as the rest of them its hard to tell currently 1

My point is we have no clue how many different people he is suggesting that get turned down by the person in charge of signing them e.g. Rudkin So yes we can judge the recruitment team as a whole = awful However we know based on work above multiple heads of recruitment Rudkin has been consistently awful. What we don't know is whether Rudkin's awfulness is suppressing good ideas/signings Glover has/ has had and its hard to know if this is the case whilst he is working under Rudkin. You could look at previous positions he has been in and see how he worked under different DOFs/ managers to see if his results were any better there if they were its possibly Rudkin keeping him down if not he is probably just as awful. But because Rudkin is so bad its hard to make a judgement on his time here alone 1
Reg Vardy Posted 22 January Posted 22 January We have no money, more likely need to sell to balance books, allegedly face a points deduction, fans are not attending matches, the likelihood of signing expensive forwards are slim at best…..the window so far highlights our situation to a tee….. 2

From what I remember, Fatawu and Mads were both Glover recommendations. You have to remember for 2024, a number of players rejected a move due to the potential points reduction, and we ended up getting Steve Cooper targets like Ayew and Skipp. The manager still has the final say on signings at Leicester, as shown by the Diabete move being held up by Marti. Until the structure of the club changes, the director of recruitment will more likely struggle than not as it's so dependent on the manager.
lcfc sheff Posted 22 January Posted 22 January I suspect on deadline day we’ll be holding on for a striker on loan, and perhaps some replacements will occur if we have any unexpected sales. otherwise, probably not much

That worked out well.

Why would we want one of Heskeys lads on loan? They both play positions we already have young lads in that can't get a game. 1

FoxyPalace.com Posted 22 January Posted 22 January Anybody else thinking the magical PSR issues are just a smokescreen for a bankrupt Kingpower ? Who could potentially be syphoning money out of our club ? Whilst macing us up with more loans ! There is no way this is just PSR problems.

There are suggestions that Chelsea will try to recoup as much of the £10m they paid Molde for Fofana a few years ago when they sell him this month, and at that price City would likely be out of the running. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-linked-chelsea-transfer-10769906

We must be one of very few few, if any, clubs not to spend a single penny this season.

We publicly publish our finances every year you would be able to see if King Power had been taking money out of the club. They haven't. There is plenty to criticise the owners for without making up false narratives. 4

RowlattsFox Posted 23 January Posted 23 January (edited) Can see us looking at Osmajic on loan on deadline day as Preston want rid and I believe we've been interested in the past, followed by him being banned for the rest of the season Edited 23 January by RowlattsFox
ts_1010 Posted 23 January Posted 23 January I wont believe that the upper management have been honest with the managers about transfer budgets for years now. We always see our managers talking about looking at targets and wanting/expecting players in. Surely they wouldn't be saying that stuff if they had been told there was no cash available? Even players like sensi who seemed to be almost done, or Jago who seemed to think he was coming. It's like the club are trying to get hold of players but are being politely ignored by the guy who signs the cheques.

Reg Vardy Posted 23 January Posted 23 January Accounts can often make a silk purse out of a pigs ear……so if we are flush, and investing in the future, why does it feel like we haven’t spent a penny for 12 months?
