Just gonna mention, other than FA Cup games, LCFC make absolutely zero off away games (45% of gate receipts in the FA Cup). So any idea that because certain people have 'invested' more than others should get an open window of priority is in my opinion, nonsense.

Also comparing football clubs has business is utter codswallop as well. No other businesses have a history of community, loyalty or 'buy-in' as a football club. When the chairmen are long gone, the fans are still there. In fact the fans continually save clubs when they go into administration. The only other business to which that has occurred in have something of a say in the community.

On the whole i agree with your points. But box holders invest in the club, away tickets are a perk the club can offer to their most 'loyal' (define that term as you wish) fans. Therefore those who pump the most money into the club will always get the most perks. It's not right but its logical and to be expected.

Yep, clearly a football club is far more of an emotive 'business' than other businesses, we can't swap clubs like we do supermarkets. But it's a fact that they are commercial businesses, and hence are run like such. All we can do is take action to try and strike the right balance.

Hallelujah. Finally some sense.

Of course a football club is a business, what else is it? A not for profit charity 🤣

Quite happy a box holder carries the same priority as a season ticket holder or even if the said box holder (by that the person who runs the business etc) gets 60 to 70 points per season on their priority (or relative to however you do your points system).

But to give them an open phase where they can order numerous tickets (which I know a fact are very likely to be passed on or sold on - which the club are aware and turn a blind eye too) is just plain wrong.

To be fair, the staff getting two each is far worse.

Staff getting two is definitely the worst thing. If they really want to ‘reward’ them with freebies so much then give them a free ticket to Liverpool away in the league or something. There’s been about 800 left for that on sale for over a week now.

Why do they have to pick the biggest games of our season (and they know this will be the most in demand game) to start handing out freebies?

I dont believe that for one minute

Agree that 1,500 certainly sounds far too high.

Ive spoken to a couple of people who work at the club/seagrave or family do and they were all offered 2 tickets per employee.

I’d imagine 600/700 have been kept by the club, looking at how it has sold and also roughly based on the blocks of seats greyed out at release.

Been said before in the thread but it wouldn’t be difficult for them to confirm this at outset so we know the true allocation as other clubs do.

I haven't said it isn't a business. What I have said it's an unique business which has an emotional link like no other (except others which have a history deep rotted in commuities). For that, there is a level of responsibility and transparency you'd expect.

They do it every game - it's just that demand is so low, it's not noticeable. In fact, it's been that low at times recently they just dib into the players allocation cos they barely have anyone turn up.

Yeh I’ve heard the same. Two tickets per employee were offered out via email last week

Do any clever people know, who study public accounts etc, how many people the club employ now? With match day staff and seagrave it must be in the several hundred? If they have all been offered tickets as a "thanks for the last two years, sorry you couldn't come to the cup final" type thing then that would explain an awful lot of tickets along with the usual sponsors, boxes, players mates etc malarky.

Interesting times.

A fact or very likely? Which one.

What is the clubs policy on away tickets for box holders? You seem to know the ins and outs.

Or is it just hear say and whinge whinge which is all our fan base seems to do these days. It’s a merry go round of ticket allocations, tifo’s, safe standing, results, Brendan, injuries etc etc. pick your day and someone will be wittering about something

Employee numbers are in the disclosure notes of clubs stat accounts - anyone can view these

Surely it doesn’t matter is it’s 1,500 or 10. The principle is still the same they are reserving tickets just based on people working at the club and not people who spend their hard earned money watching the team away from home

Fairly sure when I looked at last year's accounts it was about 350 (rough figure). That obviously is full time staff, discounting casual matchday staff.
