We do need a nasty, intimidating bastard who doesn’t mind barking at other players. We’ve missed this for some time and I would agree we are one of the softest teams in the league.

Very early days but for physicality and dominance then Armel Bella Kotchap. I've been following him the last year or so and he's stepped up in to the Bundesliga quite well. @SemperEadem will know more than me but he seems to be destined to be a big talent for Germany.

Lewandowski also mentioned him as being a nightmare to come up against.

We are missing Morgan’s influence. He is not nasty, but he was obviously a massive leader. This season is the first in years he’s not been in the dressing room.

ABK has come back into the team after a little while out. Was dropped for not training particularly well.

You sort of forget how young he is. Udinese bid last week five million euros.

He loves the club, loves a good tackle, strikes the fear of god into home and opposition players alike. Bring the crazy bastard back. Bring Benny home.

Has to be a balance. You can't just add a cnut of a player to lead when they either command little respect or are overly aggressive like Rudiger of Chelsea. A cnut can also be a d*ckhead when you're in proximity too long, which isn't optimal when you're around them most days at training.

We had players who were well 'ard, like Westley, Wasil, Huth. Wes in particular commanded respect from his own and out on the pitch; nobody messed with him and he didn't need to overreach.

He is someone who I absolutely hate, but hugely respect. He is everything we lack, a serial **** with a desire to win every ball, kick, game. We are 100% a soft touch and lack that “winning mentality” that Rodgers used to bang on about before we became a midtable team who came up with multiple excuses for why we haven’t been a midtable team for the last 2 seasons.

The last thing we need is someone who is going to get sent off every other week. Players who are ultra competitive and aggressive but stay on the right side of the rules. Vardy personifies this but his physicality is waning.  We definitely have signs of that in the club not just KDH. What we don’t need is players who go through the motions or fail to give it 100 %. What helps is confidence, winning and still being in competitions. Our stop start season in terms of performance and injuries hasn’t helped. We have it in our side just need to show more of it.

It’s not so much the aggression we need. Take Cambiasso for example. Need that player who knows when to slow it down and when to get at the ref. When to hit the deck for thirty seconds. When to trip someone.

A bit of know how really. Doesn’t have to be flying into tackles or growling at team mates

So a time waster/cheat which is what many on here seem to hate.

Everyone does it though and it is a part of the game.

If Rodgers isn't telling our current players to do that, it's unlikely he'd sign someone specifically for that purpose:(

How is it that Kane still has a tongue when a well-timed tackle by mild mannered Benny all but less than a second away? The man is a miracle of nature. The man must have tongue reflexes as fast as a lizard. I wonder if David Icke counts Kane as one of "them".

Personally I think there are ways of doing it without being an all out shithouse. Particularly in the time wasting stakes. You look at Spurs on Wednesday, we had ample chances to get the ball in the corner but chose to have it in open play.

I’d use Cambiasso has the perfect example. Remember reading when he was here that he couldn’t believe how some of our squad in 14/15 would run back to the centre spot too quick after an equaliser or taking the lead.

We need a leader like Wes, Wes wasn’t a nasty bastard, but he gave 100% and put his body on the line at all costs.

I do feel we also need someone with a bit of bite though, someone who gets stuck in, in the midfield.

Two scrappy Argentinians in Santiago Ascacibar & Nicolas Dominguez really need looking at.

Agreed, the whole nasty bastard thing is very dated.

We need players that can manage games effectively, break up play, tactical fouls, help see games out, tweak things on the pitch themselves, drag other players performances up, instill high standards etc etc.

For all the talent we have our squad has a weak backbone and seems to accept mediocrity.

Had to read that twice as for a split second thought you'd thrown Rob's name into the hat!

My guess is Rodgers demands a certain passivity.

In our line-up.today we had two potential attitude bathtubs: Maddison and KDH.  Maddison cod.be coached as a captain to play the ref; KDH would require little coaching.
