I imagine Pearson to be a "work hard / play hard" type manager that wouldn't have a problem with a party or night out if the work had been put in.... Do you have any knowledge in this respect, is that right? Would he have demanded extra training or a punishment for them partying last night?? I suspect he would, be it's only my feeling ... do you know?

The respect worked both ways between them. If they stepped out of line they were punished internally.

I’m not one to gripe about what players do in their free time but there appears to be a huge drinking culture thats grown in the dressing room in recent years.

It reeks of a manager that doesn’t have the respect or control of his players.

Totally agree. But people are acting like this has happened for the first time. These lads had a party in the midst of a national lockdown.

I think you will find it was a “work event” and therefore perfectly fine

Doesn’t necessarily have to be a “punishment” type session, I just simply wouldn’t let them have today off on principle after such an inept performance yesterday!

Why do so many of our players, not from Nottingham, live in Nottingham all of a sudden? lol

Better city, not much further to Seagrave and they won't have the hassle of coming across as many City fans day to day?

They have to live within a certain distance to the training ground.

No i completely agree with you. I’m just saying it’s funny how times have changed.
These players are too weak minded- they don’t realise how lucky they have it.

You’d think after the manager saying the players lacked physicality yesterday, that he’d have them in this morning conditioning or something.

Again their choices of drinking in the early hours of the morning is very poor preparation considering we have a quick turn around for the Liverpool game.

Is it me or does the Fro always turn up in these PR disasters? He's certainly a lad who is always in the right/wrong place!!

I'm surprised he drinks at alI due to his religion and the fact he's a professional athlete.

He's wasting his career away at this stage in my opinion. I hope he gets a move soon to do him good

The mentality starts at the top...just like Boris in Downing Street!!!

Rodgers has to take full responsibility for the way his players conduct themselves on and off the pitch!!

Our club is in a fvcking mess!😢

To be honest on more than a few occasions I’ve had a shite day at work and called people on the way home, or grabbed some colleagues and gone straight to the pub and stayed their until closing time, especially if I know I have the next day off.

It doesn’t mean I don’t care or want to work on fixing whatever the problem was, sometimes you just need to let your hair down and blow off some steam.

It’s different when your job is in the public realm though. It comes with the territory. You get paid handsomely but you have to think about the impact of partying after getting spanked by a local rival championship club and being called out by your manager as a collective. At least get your missus to turn her fkin phone off.

Couldn’t agree more. From the outside it appears there has been a complete breakdown between the management and players. It can’t be a happy environment behind closed doors and when things get to this stage, there is generally only one outcome, and it’s not shifting half of your 25man squad on…

The video was the mistake here, the party had been most likely planned for days or weeks.

Maybe it was then drowning sorrows too?

it feel like a lack of respect and to some extent it is. However I went out as a 25 year old after I’d had a crap day at work!

It's always gone on it's nothing new, the only thing is with social media more people are aware of it.

I'm sure Elliott and Taggart would share this sentiment.

Isn't there a story about big Matty going out and getting bent one night and missing the morning training, and he told MON that the electric gate on his house had malfunctioned and he couldn't leave his driveway?

Of course O'Neill didn't buy it and gave him a slap. And I think Elliott was the captain at the time. lol

Not that this excuses the current crop of players. They're still thick.

Haven't seen the video but anyone know the occassion? You can't cancel a planned party because a football result doesn't go your way.

Lol why not? Parties are cancelled all the time. What’s the worst that could happen, they lose their £100 deposit on the home catering? It’s not only a football result not going their way, they’ve embarrassed themselves in front of millions worldwide on live tv

I'm sure it did, and I'm not saying don't do it, go and enjoy yourself but there is a time and place for this.

Getting smashed 4-1 in a local derby vs a mid table championship team is not the time for a party.

Stupidity

I'm sorry but this attitude that a result should somehow dictate what they can and can't do it so childish. Only beaten by the idea it's ok to do it, but not put it on social media... which essentially just says, don't upset the idiots.

Now, should a pro be drinking at all, I'd rather they didn't in any great quantity... but then I haven't got the faintest idea what was consumed (if anything).

I got no problem with players going out. Especially after a bad result. I mean I've cocked up with work before - going out and forgetting about really helps.

I do find it interesting that knowing the impact of social media and the likelihood of the reaction they are getting, they didnt really care that video was being taken and posted. Obviously, we do not know if this fine with Brendan but after the performance/result, you'd think they would have some consideration for fans reaction. It comes across a bit thick if not anything else.

You know you wouldn't see this from someone like Kasper or Evans though. Ever.

It really does show the disparity in attitudes between the senior, established pros and the younger guys.
