Leicester City today confirms the departure of Head of Senior Player Recruitment Lee Congerton, following a three-year spell with the Club.

 

Having joined City from Celtic in May 2019, Lee played a central role in the Club’s player recruitment operation, helping to shape the squads that secured fifth-placed Premier League finishes in the last two seasons and the Club’s first ever FA Cup in 2021.

He will shortly take up a senior position with Serie A side Atalanta.

Leicester City would like to place on record its thanks to Lee for his contribution to a successful period in the Club’s history and wish him every success in his future career.

Can't think of any obvious candidates who have worked with Rodgers or Rudkin before, with the exception of Walsh and Macia who have already left.

 

Intrigued to see if the club go with what looks like a Rodgers pick or their own recruitment process.

 

They might promote Callum Smithson from Head of Technical Scouting?

Not easy recruiting players on a limited budget and recently it has been pretty dodgy. Having said that if Foxestalk was in charge of recruitment we would now be playing Aldershot.

In all seriousness, why not!? Both these guys did very well! Walsh legendary of course, but Macia was also very good.

 

Congerton is overly hated though. James Justin, Wesley Fofana, Patson Daka are very good signings. Timothy Castagne and Ademola Lookman are decent to good. Sure he made some dud ones too, but that's a respecable hit rate.
