Not sure how much I agree with that second bit there. A loss isn't the worse thing in the world and I don't think there are many who expect us to win but the the team have worked like fvck to build up a bit of momentum, especially in regards to some defensive confidence, so a poor performance and heavy loss could be a major blow psychologically. 7
Guest Lcfc82 Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 No issue at all with players being rested today, Thursday is far more important. Would or liked to have seen him go a bit further and rest Albrighton, Barnes and Soyuncu as well.
RoanClawson Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 Mendy is our most underrated player, looking forward to a solid performance from him today 2

Yeah I agree here, we still need a performance to continue the forward momentum… can’t take it easy and go back to the rubbish from earlier
volpeazzurro Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 (edited) Not a bad team in fairness and you have to remember, some like Ndidi following the African cup have had a lot of football. We can't complain one minute about certain injuries and then moan when Rodgers rests players. An in form player like Tielemans or Ndidi would be virtually undropable, but neither are firing on full cylinders for whatever reason. I think KDH and Albrighton may be pretty drained also so I wouldn't expect a full match out of either to be fair. I criticise Rodgers a lot but I think to be fair to him, he's doing his best in the circumstances on this occasion depending on tactics. Edited 13 March 2022 by volpeazzurro 2

StanSP Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 Defend, soak up pressure and hit on the counter. Maddison and KDH to be on their game. Iheanacho goal contribution expected?
Dames Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 Won’t mind a bad result today provided its all guns blazing for Thurs. 1
Tielemans63 Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 Is this evidence that we're prioritising the Europa Conference maybe?
Stadt Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 We’ll be overran in midfield. KDH is the only one with any running power, given they’ll have the vast majority of the ball I can see a long evening.

Spudulike Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 If we ain't going to win then just no more injuries, please.

Still not downbeat about the selection and feel we can get something today
beepee1984 Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 It's good to see Iheanacho start. I understand bringing in Mendy, both due to protecting Ndidi and the fact he has been out of sorts of late, but am surprised at Tielemans being dropped

Tielemans63 Posted 13 March 2022 Posted 13 March 2022 I sincerely hope we put in more of a shift then we did in the home game against these. One of our poorest performances all season that was. 2
