Mike McGrath of the telegraph has linked us with the CB

Leicester will make a push for Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer in the summer race for the £40million-rated Brazilian defender.

The 25-year-old, after four campaigns in Italy, is at the top of Brendan Rodgers’ list for a centre-back who can play on the left side of a pairing, bolstering a backline hit by injuries this season.

Rodgers had Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans partnered against Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday night in the 1-1 draw, with Caglar Soyuncu on the bench and Jannik Vestergaard his other first-team centre-back.

He would ideally like to freshen up that area of his team and Bremer has been on Leicester’s radar, although they will face competition for him. Tottenham Hotspur have added him to the list of centre-backs they are looking at and Liverpool are admirers.

Torino, who are currently 10th in Serie A, would stand to make a huge profit on the player who has two full seasons left on his contract and arrived for around £6million from Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro in 2018.

Watched him play the other week against AC milan, really impressed me I have to say but as mentioned above, he could be destined for bigger things.

....if we choose to go after a £40m defender then we are looking in the wrong places!!!

If we defend from the front, there is less pressure on the backline. If we are occupying the attention of the opponents defence, with our forward play, our defence is more that adequate to deal with any eventual pressure exerted at any one time.

Lte us finally deal with our forward play, bring in the Right Winger and Barnes and our strikers and Maddison's figures are greatly enhanced. We seek to avoid every year to having to bring in a player for this role, it really undermines us.

I remember we were linked a couple of years ago when we got Fofana, so I’m sure there is probably something in it, but as others have mentioned, the price and other ‘bigger’ teams sniffing around will probably mean we lose out.

Be a bit gutted if our first Brazilian an ard as nails centre half as opposed to a silky samba star of a winger but he'd still be a great signing.

might see him get 3 in the future

We might need a dependable, centre back option but we can't afford to spunk a huge chunk of our budget on one, unless a couple leave.

Pretty sure Soyuncu will be gone in the summer for 20m-30m.

hmm building Praet into the deal could make it feasible. If they dont have the cash to convert the loan now, maybe this could solve it

Good point Praet loan more then likely mean we have got a bit of a relationship with Torino.

Would they really want Praet though now that they've seen that his legs are made of Quavers? I think not.

If you accept that it's probably a mathematical certainty that one day every Premier League club will eventually have a Brazilian player on their books, it would be exceptionally Leicester City to make our first a centre half.

....I would rather we picked up Chris Richards!!!

Two footed Centre Back, 22 years old, very good on the ball and quick. Transfer market says £6.75m but he will cost more. Exciting defender, loves to play the game. He is just too good to pass up, to end up shelling out £40m on a player which will break the bank (for the wrong position) when we don't have to.

i would argue after this season that it’s absolutely the right position to splash on.

Same as Youri I believe.

In which case I reckon we will struggle to get much more than £15m. And he could well decide to see out his final year and take some big money when he leaves for nowt.
