I know there's a few Evo SL heads on here so pointing it out if anyone is keen - SportsShoes currently have a handful of colour ways up for £103, but they've got some mid-season discount code up too, apply it and you can get a pair for under £90, best part of £40 off the RRP.

My second pair have gone flat after a really decent stretch and I really like them for getting out in so I've grabbed a new set, the price was a bonus!

what runs do you use the SLs for and how many shoes do you have in rotation given your mad annual mileage

He drinks 8% IPAs and runs barefoot.

Just signed up for the Shakespeare Marathon in April next year.

My running has been near non-existent since London. Just going for the odd jog here and there. Think I've been in a rut mentally and physically, stopped working out and put on some weight. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and thought i need to do something about it. I'll be 40 in January and I really don't want to become inactive and let myself go even more.

Absolutely buzzing - got my first ever sub 20 5k with a 19:16 yesterday. It’s been alluding me all year with previous best being a sickening 20:02 but glad to have finally got it 😅

Fair play well done mate

I just dash about in one pair until they lose bounce mate, it'd be different if I got involved in events though I'm sure

Did the new Brock's Hill parkrun this morning.

Decent course but super tight in places, particularly where runners are moving both ways. Think they might have to ban dogs because the leads were nearly tripping everyone.

Not one for fast times really

Will be a shitty mess in winter too.

Any runners had bad knee injuries and managed to return to running?

I've had an ACL avulsion and meniscus tear (and a double fracture for good measure). Got surgery next month and massively missing the running. Just unsure how wise it is to try and return given how bad it can be on the old joints.

It’s not something I’ve ever been unlucky enough to do, but I’d be asking the physio/surgeon these sorts of questions when it comes about.

If I was answering it purely on instinct, I’d say that as long as your body has fully recovered, you do the necessary strength work and you take it very slowly and gently I wouldn’t see why not. When that comes about, I’d be tempted to start very slowly on a treadmill and get a running coach to analyse your form because you’ll likely be nervous of your knee which could change your gait and lead to other injuries in the short term.

Sounds rough either way mate but a lot of the stuff I’ve read is that running is more beneficial for your joints than it is of detriment, fingers crossed your surgery goes well.

Thanks mate and yeh will definitely take the physios advice on what I can/can't do. Just hoping for some positive stories haha.

Good man who used to post on here - he pints with MTWG - he's got an absolute mess of a knee. He's recovered back to personal bests. He finds the lack of needing to turn helpful. You've got me very careful in the first year back though - the chance of re-injury is massive.

Thanks mate, that's good to hear! as that's exactly how I describe my knee at the mo. PB's in 2028 hopefully :fc:

Anyone always seem to get injuries on one side/leg and not the other? 😂

Constantly my left leg that goes. I've slightly pulled the hamstring again there, it's about the second or third time now. Never a pop just a tightness suddenly. It's minor, like a grade one but is never the right leg and I stretch both legs the same.

Last summer I had major back pain which I think was sciatic and that started on left side then into left buttock and leg area and I couldn't run for a while.

Just need to be careful with it now, but maybe it's because I'm right footed etc and that leg is stronger but never happens there 😂

Exactly the same mate, any niggle I get however minor is always my left peg, no idea, I don't plant it any differently!

Yep. Left groin, left knee, left ankle and dodgy left hand side of my neck.

Signed up for the Rugby half at the weekend. Weather looks horrendous but I need to do a long run so thought I may as well do an event.

I looked at doing that as my lad has a free week from football so was keen to get into a race somewhere.

Looked at the 40mph winds forcasted at race time and thought 'No chance!' lol
