Done my early year target - basically set a 10K PB. I set two, but I can now say I HATE 10KM RACES. Just an awful distance. If you set off too quick, you're spent by 5K, if you start too slow there just isn't enough distance to reel it back in so basically you have to run at 95% effort the whole way round. No ta.

Rest of the Year, I've got two halves, one in 6 weeks then Leicester half in October. The nearest one isn't ideal for a good time as it's lumpy, so will be happy to just try and get sub 2 hours for that. Leicester half I'd love to do sub 1h 45. In between those Id like to try and run a sub-20minute 5k Parkrun at Vicky Park.

Keep on running...

Shakespeare Half Marathon on Sunday. Hoping to beat my Leicestershire half time of 1:46 to more like 1:40.

After that, I’m not sure what to do. Tempted by the Leicester half later in the year and generally feel as though running a half every 10 weeks would be ideal.

Anyone else running the London marathon on Sunday? I was lucky enough to get in via the ballot so will be my first marathon

Been to the expo this afternoon, in and out as quick as possible and tried to ignore all the hassling from stands etc. They set it up so that you have to walk the whole lot like up IKEA if you are collecting a New Balance t shirt.

I put on a masterclass in ignorance and was out quick but didn't get any free stuff bar some socks.

All the best to everyone for Sunday, hopefully see you at the end for a tin.

Been hammering it this year, 1,020km in 2026 ran so far

Whittled my 10km best to 41mins, 10 miles to 1hr9m and my HM to 1hr36m. Tried a marathon for the first time and managed 3hrs36m, fair play to any of you lot who choose to run further than that, I was sick as a ****ing parrot for an hour or so after aha

I’ve massively struggled with confidence since London 2024 and have pulled out of majority of my races for this year including London. In light of this, I have done what any normal sane person would do and have entered my favourite race for next Easter…..Manchester to Liverpool Ultra! It’s a dream route and basically a massive picnic.

Keep grinding mate, it'll return (the confidence)

Got to do something to stop myself looking like my bloody avatar mate

I'd like to combine running and fishing as a sport. You've got to carry all your fishing tackle an'all and bait. Just boilies everywhere.

I've been training for sub 3 - but I am the sweatiest man on earth when it's remotely sunny, the anti-Andrew if you will (in many ways). I think I'll settle for finishing in one piece if this weather persists.

Also undecided what to do on the Saturday - ideally I'll be in a dark room, eating carbs and not moving. But fear my wife and friend aren't going to be too keen with me dragging them to London for the weekend to sit and stare at a wall.

I'm in the 'started running again after not really running for a 3 years' stage.. I've got enough of a base fitness and being realistic with my steadier pace, but mentally the slower pace is a battle.

I know I can do more at a faster but trying not to do myself in and stop again lol

I did London in 2018 which was the hottest on record. Won’t lie, it was horrific! The one huge positive was that I saw the good side of the human race. They’d ran out of water early on (from around mile 8) and people went and found water to hand out, shopkeepers let us in to help ourselves to water and strangers gave out ice lollies.  I ended up walking most of it was it was relentless and I was completing couch to marathon.  Amazing day and one I won’t forget.

If you’re starting in the red area, as you’re running look left quite early on and you’ll see the lady who brings her horse to watch the runners! Really surreal seeing a horse popping its head over the hedge. When you reach Deptford, look right at the tower blocks and you’ll see the people wearing top hats having their marathon party. It’s brilliant!

It's going to be between 18-20 degrees which will be a bit naughty but hopefully not too horrific. Last year was way hotter and I know a battle.

Fluids wise i'll stick to my plan but hopefully still grab a few waters to bomb round my neck and gooch.

All the best everyone 🙌🙌🙌

Truly bricking it for tomorrow. Hoping the leg holds up and my glorious ginger skin doesn’t burst in to flames.

Fingers crossed I won’t be waddling around like Ayew at a buffet.

Good luck to everyone taking part.
