I mean, it’s obviously a thing. We’ve seen it numerous times.

I'm sorry to pick, but 'we' don't necessarily perceive everything exactly the same.

Everton will do well for a bit, fans celebrate a winning team but then they'll decide they deserve better football and start all over again.

That 'bit' might gain them enough points to keep them up. While we continue to sleepwalk to relegation under Brendan.

Good entertaining game

Nothing boring about seeing your players working hard and earning their money..

Same snobbery that , for example,  people would turn their noses up at Ben Mee on a free transfer,  when he would have been a great edition to our dreadful defence at the time

Club in trouble change manager and then have a run of wins/improvement in form. That’s a matter of fact, isn’t it?

Sample size is way too small to come to any conclusions re: Everton under Dyche yet imho, as know new manager bounce is a thing

Maybe re his time at Everton but I’d sooner watch Dyche’s Burnley than Rodgers Leicester (of the past year or so).

Most dropped points from winning positions - the ever obliging Leicester City

Lovely reminder that wasn’t it 🤣

Strange, do not recall you saying it previously…..

Christ, didn’t realise it was that bad. Obviously isn’t really a thing to win every game you lead in. But we’d be 5th if we had 🤦🏻‍♂️

Question - is new manager bounce still a thing, or was it never a thing?

From Goal.com this week:

Quote

If we go by statistics and data, the 'new manager bounce' phenomenon is actually real.

Of the 26 managerial changes that took place (since the start of the 2017-18 season(, 20 of them averaged more points per match (ppm) in his first five matches in charge than his predecessor.

In nine cases, the new man doubled the previous points average or did even better than that.

This has 1-0 Everton written all over it.

Ahem.

Arsenal could do with getting a point here, because dare I say it you can see them creaking a tad.

Lets not forget this Arsenal team have been flying.

Everton have made them look like a bottom half side.

And no doubt you keep a detailed record and refer to it frequently too!🤣

Funny what playing like you give a shit and doing possession-based teams on the counter can do, eh?
