He reacts way too fvcking slow!! He should have been on top of that ball.

The whole thing about the goal was soft but this guy epitomises our softness.

Soft!!

He’s not super human to predict where Christie is going to place that ball. If he’d have hit it high and with power into the back of the net would you be saying he should have made himself big, just like he did?

By all means criticise him for flapping at crosses and looking shaky earlier in the season, but he really couldn’t have done an awful lot about either goals. Both would have been unreal saves if he had pulled them off.

I’m not going to say Iversen is a better keeper than Ward as we have no evidence to back that up but it would be criminal not to give him a chance now….

"Not at fault for either goal"

Unless you count this demented star jump...

That is shit for the second goal, awful goalkeeping.

I mean we were warned after the Brentford game on here that we'd be relegated with him in goal, and I don't think they are wrong, needs replacing but he's always starting with Rodgers in charge.

That goal keeping belongs on an episode of Harry Enfield and friends lol  Christ, if it was not so serious it would be funny,.......it is funny lol

Every goalkeeper is taught to do exactly that in that situation - you make yourself as big as possible to narrow the angle at close range.

What do you expect him to do there?

Not sure why he jumps quite as high as he does as that makes him as small as positive at ground level - I think you’ve got to jump towards the player making yourself as large as you can rather than jumping into the air …

it’s not a shocking error but because Christie doesn’t strike it cleanly (and that’s always possible), it looks grim

The thing is, in most games, keepers are making at least one unreal save …….ward has managed one, possibly two all season ….

He must be in course for some Prem record. First keeper to concede 50 by November??

Well, they best not hand him an award, you know he'd drop it.

He’s a league one keeper. In fact, I think in Stockdale and David Martin we had better keepers in League One.

The arseholes who sat there at the start of the season and thought it was normal to go into a prem season with him as No.1 need to **** off out of our club.

Watch again and look how slow he reacts. He can’t save shots blasted at him and he can’t anticipate anything.

Hes soft soft soft mate like the rest of them.

I mean, I've played in goal for over 25 years at half decent Saturday league level (and Sunday mornings once I hit my mid 30s) and I genuinely believe I'm better than Ward.  Yes, a prem keeper on what, 30 40k a week?  It's absolutely criminal that all I ever got paid was a 6 pack in the back of my goal occasionally when I was nursing Saturday night's hangover and he's on stupid money for being equally as shit!

I do find myself wishing he'd put his reflexes to better use but his ability to get out of the way of shots is genuinely quite impressive. He's like Neo in The Matrix.

Agent Smith, ' what are you Mr Anderson, some sort of Danny Ward?'

I think one of the only saves he actually made today was one with his face that he didn’t even know about

And ended up not meaning anything anyway as play was brought back for a free kick to us.

Sure our current woes are not all down to Ward but let's get real, he's nowhere near good enough. We need heroics in key situations like Kasper frequently produced. Ward will never be capable of that. Surely Iverson must be given a chance.
