We owe so much to Pearson. Lesser managers would never have signed him, even fewer would have the conviction and ability to convince Vardy to keep playing when he was at his lowest.

That Middlesbrough away game in 13/14 is one of our most important. If Vardy and Drinkwater didn't play as well as they did, we probably don't have a league title and FA cup to our name.

West Brom away the following  season too.

To think I was frustrated with Pearson for persisting with a misfiring Vardy over our marque Rolls Royce new signing Beckford.

Pearson picked people of character and work ethic. It was frustrating at times (Gradel), but he new what he was doing/building.

Great work! I was going to ask if anyone could dig that thread up!

You would never in a million years expect him to become the player he did. What a journey and what a player!

I'm thinking now of all the bizarre buzz the media created behind Noble's (!!) retirement. When Vardy hangs his shoes there should be a 5 days bank holiday in Leicestershire, 3 days in whole Midlands and 1 day nationwide.

Some of the posts there are pure gold and prove that many of our fans have a great football brain and knowledge. I would love to see some of these posts written underneath his statue when this LEGEND retires.

Those pictures document his rise so well. I still cannot believe he is still banging goals at 35, just incredible.

The only slight sad fact is that I’m only twenty next month and I’m almost 100% sure that I won’t ever like a player as much as him.

Not going to quote and have to go through and delete all the photos one by one, so just copied and pasted this one from the OP.

Hadn’t seen that one of Vardy and Nugent before together holding the Championship trophy. That is a great photo, I wonder if they’re still best mates now. Certainly a ridiculously good strike force at Championship level.

In hindsight,  it's really not a surprise we dominated the Championship in 13/14 when Schmeichel, Morgan, Drinkwater, Mahrez & Vardy were the spine of a title winning side side 2 years later.

14/15 makes a bit more sense too when Drinkwater, Vardy and Mahrez weren't regulars

I was thinking about this photo the other day, all I could think was 'I always knew i'd see this image' but never invisaged it being him going to court in a supportive capacity lollol

Absolute legend! Possibly our greatest ever player maybe along with kasper.

So many records for him and leicester along the way, plus a huge amount of loyalty!

Hopefully there will be a statue one day.

I can't really add that much more, as every LCFC fan knows what an absolute number 1 legend our Jamie is!

We could never have imagined that for £1 million he would turn out to be out to be; LCFC top premier league goal scorer, Championship Winner, Premiership Winner, F.A Cup Winner & Charity Shield Winner. We aren't done yet as well :scarf:

WHAT A LEGEND!

Were is his statue?

It’s Eleven!
It’s heaven, for Jamie Vardy!

Hold the back page,

Hold the front page,

A Leicester player has SMASHED the record!

Poetry.

I really do have to pinch myself that we’ve seen a player of his calibre play for our club. He is one of the greatest strikers to ever Grace the premier league, let alone being our best ever. We’ve got our very own premier league, **** it, British footballing legend on our hands. Completely deserves to be regarded alongside players like Fowler, Shearer, Wright, Henry, Ageuro, Rooney. He is without doubt one of the best to ever do it in this country.

Who would have even thought he would play at this level

Let alone score at this level on such an incredible basis.

The second part of the commentary is underrated imo, perfectly encapsulates the miracle that is vardy's career

I thought the same about Muzzy Izzet and now he’s not even in my top 3.

To think 3 of the 5 examples that were given of players that 'came good' after being signed from non-league were Michael Kightly, Craig Mackail-Smith and Steve Morison lol

Compare them to JV! Unreal.

These are both fair points but I think Vardy will prove to be different. This is a player who has won the Championship, the Premier League and the FA Cup. Never mind the multiple individual records he has broken. He is different to the two above as whilst both were good players in their own right, what they did at Leicester won’t go down in general football history. Vardy will go down as one of the PL greats.

But, if we do have a player who I end up liking more than Vardy then we are certainly going places.
