Who cares really? It's either that or some kids kicking a ball at an owl/shrimp/fox/dinosaur. I've not read the article but as long as it doesn't affect the 15 minutes half time then who cares?

Those interested will watch and those who aren’t will find something else to do for 15 minutes .

Presumably this won’t be on the pitch affecting it mid match ?

I mean, what’s the betting the half time gets extended? I’m sure Infantino can see the $$$$ signs over the half time ads already. If it makes FIFA money, they will do it.

They extend halftime by 10-15 mins for the SuperBowl, so I wouldn't be surprised. It takes time to setup the stage on the field, and then break it down after the show. Plus the players have to be able to come back out onto the field to warm up before play resumes. No way they can do all of that in 15 minutes.

Ugh. I’m still pissed that the euros is now 24 teams and the 2026 World Cup won’t be 32. Really diluting the product.

64 is better than 48 though. Because then the top 2 can qualify rather than some stupid ‘8 best third places’ nonsense. Either 32 or 64.

I’ve no issue with the 64 teams really. It means more football. It’ll be spaced out and multiple matches can be played at the same time.

What I have beef with is that the US had a World Cup in 1994 and we’ve still not had now solely for the United Kingdom.

The Panini sticker album is going to be thicker than a copy of War and Peace.

I’m going to have to get a house extension built  for the wall chart!

Maybe unsurprisingly Brazil have sacked their manager .

They have been linked to Ancelotti before but presumably that ship has sailed .

I don't actually disagree as it's a less awkwardly number, but can you imagine the absolute batterings that will be handed out in the group stage as Spain play Turkmenistan and Argentina play Kenya?

New Zealand, Argentina and Iran also qualified…..the latter though are on a list of countries whose residents Trump plans to ban from entering the country.

It's why FIFA need to rethink who hosts the World Cup. LGBTQ fans were less than welcome at the last one, Iranian fans will be less than welcome in 2026 and as for 2034 in Saudi Arabia...

Also, going to 64 teams severely limits who'll have the capacity to host. How many countries have the ability to host 64 training camps, entourages and travelling fan groups from all over the world? We're at the point then when they will want to have a bigger Euro 2020 tournament and just rotate it between confederations and have an extremely lucrative and opaque bidding process for individual games. The FAs who offer the least bribery get the group games and those who offer the most get the business end. I can't wait to see a World Cup Final in Baku.

I'm sure that'll be great for Infantino's pockets. Less so for fans who will end up having group games in London, Istanbul and Madrid.
