Leicester forward has ‘offers’ on the table – ‘Priority’ is to return to home country, three clubs want him

There has been talk of him going back to Spain, and now Radio Marca are claiming there is a fair bit of interest in the Leicester striker.

In fact, the player ‘has offers’ from La Liga, where Real Betis, Villarreal and Real Sociedad are all vying for him.

As to what the Leicester man ‘priority’ is at this moment in time? ‘Return to our football’, meaning to Spain, since it’s Radio Marca’s Twitter talking there.

Pérez made 24 appearances for the Foxes last season in all competitions, scoring three goals and picking up five assists.

Hed be good at villareal. He can play in a counter attacking team.

Hopefully with 3 clubs interested we can get a ok fee.

Let me guess
Real Betis: Loan with 6m option to buy, obviously won't get activated
Villareal: 5m bid
Real Sociedad: Loan with 9m option to buy, doesn't get activated because he does both his ACLs

Snap up the 5m quick!

It is simply good business to move him on. He is an important departure in the refresh.

I would rather we developed academy players than wonder if Perez might have a reasonable day.

I am deluding myself the 5 million info is from an itk rather than ironic speculation.

Doubt we will get any fee for him, will go on loan just to get rid of wages. The market seems good value this year, prices have dropped and that would impact this transfer. We would do well to get any fee at all or get rid of 100% of his wages.

The Neymar transfer impact is starting to dwindle; as players have realised they can get better value in themselves from a signing on fee. I think we’re moving into an era that will have more bosmans.

It depends on if there are actually plans afoot to get players in.

If replacements are imminent then yes sell, if it’s just a case of getting rid to lessen the wage bill, then rather we kept him as a option from the bench.

He's a funny one, we often look a better team with him in it but overall he doesn't seem to directly contribute that much. It's quite impressive when you think of it!

I've always actually quite liked Ayoze. I think there is a good player there and he's had some good games for us. Just think  we've almost always played him in positions where we aren't going to get the best out of him or in a system that doesn't compliment his strengths.

Probably best for everyone that he moves on, but I've been happy when he's been an option from the bench as he does seem to have some great games when he's come on as a sub too.

Despite the haters, he’s been a solid player in the longest period of our sustained push for the top 4. Of the money we’ve blown, he isn’t even close to being within our top 10 worst transfer ever. He’s had some pivotal games and moments for us. When he’s on it, he’s a real asset.

Cheers Ayozé and thank you for that deflection to Youri in the FA Cup Final.

When we finished 5th twice running, we only need a fractional improvement to get over the line.  We were also carrying a quite obvious weak link who was at a level considerably below his team mates.  That weak link was Ayoze Perez and that weak link cost us.  Now we stand to lose £25m on him if we're lucky.  Not his fault of course, but yeah, cheers Ayoze.  Off you pop.

We’ll just have to agree, to disagree on this one.

If we could have defended against Bournemouth and not lost our heads, we’re in the Champions League again.

However, we win as a team and lose as a team.

2 seasons can you believe it, he cost us twice :wasyl:

Happy to agree to disagree but my point is not down to one match here or one performance there, but consistent sub par displays week on week.  It cost us.

Think that's a bit hard to say both years in19/20 he had 12 goal contributions in 2018 minutes , thats one every 168 mins

Barnes had 14 goal contributions in 2088 minutes, thats one every 149 mins

He did fine in 19/20

Agreed.

The telling factor in those run ins was having a back three of Bennett, Morgan and Evans at Spurs or being in a situation of NDidi and Soyuncu on the final day

He did very well to single-handedly cost us top 4 in 20/21 while only playing about 35-40% of matches

We play better when he plays, yet he is the most droppable player in the line up.

Im sure he is for sale, but I doubt that anyone will pay what we want.

Players that do not play very often always get a boost in popularity....until they play again.  I think that Ayoze is benefiting from that here.  Perhaps it is a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder but just revisit his thread if you need reminding how plain ineffectual he was.  I think that when you have one player that is so far below the level of his team mates is is easy to identify what is holding that team back.

Anyway, whatever, I won't miss him.  I won't miss his tootlings and nurdlings, I won;t miss his misplaced passes and him tripping over his own shadow.  I will wave him a cheery farewell and say thank God for that.
