It's not the worst miss. The final pass isn't that good as it goes behind and catches the other player off the pace forcing him to a left footed control. In fact it's both their fault. Bad pass and not well timed run.

Yep, Mahrez wants penalties but the weirdest thing was it seemed like his team mates encouraged him to take it. Be they wouldn't if they needed the win. 

 

He has scored a couple of big penalties in his career but has a terrible miss rate.

He couldn't shoot first time as he was already anticipating a pass timed for his run for an easy right footed scoring. Ball catches him wrong footed and off pace resulting to a bad, heavy first time touch. As I said earlier, it looks like both players are in fault. It happens all the time on amateur 5x5 courts, it's a bit inexcusable at this level. This is why Vardy and Kane (unfortunately) are prolific goal scorers. They know how to time their runs and have the experience to think ahead how a situation in the box could unfold. Ofc the same applies to Haaland. Historically the best strikers in the world of football were always the ones who were clever and somewhat educated. I'm not talking Uni level but I hope you know what I mean.
