We are a stronger team then last year if we keep Maddison and Fofana.

21/22 Barnes coming back from injury vs 22/23 full fit.

21/22 Fofana broken leg vs 22/23 full fit.

21/22 Maddison started the season out of form vs 22/23 coming into the season flying.

21/22 KDH no PL experience vs 22/23 full blooded and raring to go.

To name a few things.

Potentially Praet coming out to play

That’s a very positive post, a more realistic one would probably say that if/when we lose Tielemans and start to get 1 or 2 injuries we are much weaker.

Think how anxious we were back in 2015 ahead of that season…in all seriousness yes the lack of activity is a concern but still the club is still so strong in terms of 1) Stature 2) playing squad 3) manager 4) ownership. There is still so much to look forward too.

2/3 inevitable injuries to first teamers puts us right where we were last season, if not worse. Original poster proposed a perfectly legitimate question/discussion but the same old posters shoot it down without any real response.

I think it’ll be a tough season personally. I don’t have much faith past a few outstanding players that will most almost certainly not be playing for us in 12 months. Failing to qualify for top four both of those years has scuppered the projected progression of the club massively and it’s unfortunately a door that I don’t think will ever be open again.

If you win the league via an absolute miracle run of form, technically everything after that is a decline. If you mean we're plummeting towards the bottom 3 and another 10 year struggle, no.

We at the same point of the cycle as we were once the dust settled on the CL season. I’ve said repeatedly football seemingly works in three season cycles and then you have to develop again.

There’s no doubt it’s a big season and a clever decisions need to be made. It could be a couple of seasons where we have to be solid and by which time some good prospects mature into first team players.

With Kasper leaving and the lack of a replacement or any signing. Are we on the d clone as a club? Have we reached our peak and that’s as good as it gets?

it all seems so negative and we seem to be feeling the effects of not qualify for the champions league twice and some poor management with regards to transfers and contracts.

Winning the premier league and FA Cup is definitely as good as it gets unless u think we can win the champions league aswell!

We have a good team. Maybe lacking some depth for injuries and we could do with another goalscorer granted but overall we some very good quality. We just don't play to our strengths alot of the time.

Biggest problem will be keeping everyone at the club.

Everyone getting offended at the question but it is valid, yes we’ve had a lot more success than we imagined but being in a position not being able to strengthen the team and losing first choice keeper and captain is what a club on the decline would do, let’s just hope not

The truth is difficult for some to accept or even acknowledge as a possibility. That’s life.

The truth is, though, we are the only Premier league team not to have brought anyone in this transfer window and we are serious contemplating selling more than one key player. Our team is bloated with mediocre dross on stupid wages.

It feels to me as though things are falling apart, but then that applies to everything really.

Are Leicester starting to decline?  I think the answer is yes, but I will reserve judgement until the end of the season for now.

2021/22 Justin out injured not fit to start the season 22/23 fully fit.

2021/22 Evans not fit 22/23 fully fit.

Some more for you.

If we don’t have injuries this season, fair point.

What I'm saying is our starting point is better then last season, we can and well get injuries.

But you can't argue that the squad as a whole is not in a better shape.

Like you say Youri could go, but on form does he get in our best midfield 3? I'm not sure he does.

Lose Kasper is a blow, but was he at his peak last year? Maybe a Iversen or Ward could for receptive to trying something different at corners?

No, not necessarily, lets see where the club is squad wise when the transfer window closes!

Man U famously sold  Paul Ince, Mark Hughes and Andrei Kanchelskis before the start of the season, and replaced them with kids and didn't sign anyone of note. After a 3–1 defeat away to Aston Villa, their young team was written off by all the media, most famously by Alan Hansen who claimed "you'll never win anything with kids", the rest is history.

Know we aren't Man U, but the amount of people writing us of on here before a ball is kicked is ridiculous

How?! Falling apart?!

That's quite an extreme thing to suggest.

It's embarrassing.

You'd think we're about to drop out of the football league.

Seems like they're revelling in it.

No we have an owner that wants us to be here for the long run.

He wont over spend so we pay fines/penalties on it.

Ffs get a life it's no longer a game it's a business. He could toss in millions and we fall foul to ffp and then gone.

Would you prefer that?

If we are a club in decline that's life outside the top six. Bare in mind we have more trophies than one of them in the last 20yrs.

If you can't hack it feel free to go support spuds or one of the others.
